Re: Online File Hosting and Maximum Football
I feel that David is on the right track. Up until a few years ago, my wife and I had a small computer repair business. We literally did what he's talking about. Started with little to no money as we didn't have it, and no investors, and started out of a room in the basement. I get exactly where he's coming from
Plus I don't want to see them open to legal issues. The other thing I remember about NCAA was people would get online for online games and quit if they were losing a match.
The best strategy is what they are doing. Build up the gameplay, build dynasty mode, keep improving physics and graphics. If enough people buy the game, and they make enough and can start actually earning a good paycheck from the game, you may see that things like online functions, licensing, etc will be easier to work out. Start small and build a step at a time.SGComment

Re: Online File Hosting and Maximum Football
PES has had option files going back as far as PS2. With PS3/PS4 they're loaded directly from USB drives instead of needing a memory card reader/writer.Comment

Re: Online File Hosting and Maximum Football
according to Spear, the PS4's game saves are tied to the user's account. so whoever you get a file from, their account has to be on your PS4 to use it. If someone makes a legit roster file with correct team names and went the extra mile with logo updates, it would be very difficult to share.

Rosters, kits, logos, leagues, you name it can all be added easily via USB on PS4 (and previously on PS3, and with a card reader on PS2).

The bolded bit is exactly what PES option files have been doing for more than a decade with no ties to user accounts.

As someone (like most of us, here) who's been playing 2K or EA games for so long... THIS LEVEL OF COMMUNICATION AND TRANSPARENCY FROM A DEVELOPER IS TERRIFYING!Comment

Hahaha!!! That's what first attracted me to their project. Being kept in-the-know is so much better than having them stay quiet about something out of fear that their customers will be unhappy about some news. Too many companies fail to realize that. It also sets realistic expectations and we all know what we're spending our money on in advance. I definitely respect and appreciate their transparent approach.Comment
