How many jersey templates are there to choose from? Pants? Helmet stripes? Just wondering since we can create 130 schools I don’t want too many to look a like just different colors. Thank you.

Re: Doug Flutie's Maximum Football - FAQ
Will different teams feel different - meaning would one team run a Air Raid type offense while another runs a West Cost offense? Will the Annapolis Academy run the Triple Option? Or would they all pick from the same playbook with the same game plan?
I'm very interested in trying this game.Comment

Re: Doug Flutie's Maximum Football - FAQ
You said you wouldn't do a PC release, but I think you should talk to Epic Store about making your game an Epic exclusive (for the PC, console sales will be unaffected). They will guarantee that you will at least break even on a PC release. I'm not sure how much extra work would be required to port the game, but I think they would make it worth your time. It would be a financial safety net at the very least.Comment

We only have one backend developer so we don’t have the capacity to support a PC release. There are a considerable amount of support requests when you release on the PC.

Re: Doug Flutie's Maximum Football - FAQ
How could they possibly guarantee that?
We've released Maximum Football, and other football titles, on the PC in the past. PC sales figures are a very small fraction of what we currently sell on console platforms, yet at the same time, PC builds generate over 95% of the support requests.
These requests come, not just from people trying to mod the game, breaking it along the way, then asking for help, but mostly from people trying to play the game on woefully inadequate hardware. I've even had support requests from people trying to make the games work on Macs through some sort of emulator.
I just simply do not have the time to spend on PC tech support.
thanks.Last edited by CanuckPlay; 08-05-2019, 10:28 AM.Comment

It was just a thought. I've put a bunch of sources in spoilers below.
I still think you should check with them before dismissing the idea. If they offer you money up front with revenue guarantees similar to what they have offered other companies, you could hire more developers and make a better game.
I'd suggest talking with them and seeing how much money they will throw your way before making a decision.
How much better would this game be if you had $1 million in your pocket to hire more staff?
SpoilerRevenue guarantees, if you're not familiar with the term, simply mean Epic will promise that a game sold on its store will generate a certain amount of income for a developer. If the game fails to meet that threshold, Epic will find a way to make up the difference.
"These exclusives don’t come to stores for free; they’re a result of some combination of marketing commitments, development funding, or revenue guarantees. This all helps developers."
So doing the math, Epic has promised Snapshot Games well over $2 million to be exclusive. The community manager went on to clarify the terms of the deal, saying that Epic's promise didn't come in the form of a single paycheck. Instead it was "for a minimum guarantee - which means Epic will guarantee that we will sell X number of copies. Even if we don't hit that number, they still pay us."Phoenix Point developer Snapshot Games recently decided to enter a one-year exclusivity deal with the Epic Games Store for at least $2 million.
“Because Epic doesn’t yet have the same market share as their competitors,” the developers say, “they offered us a minimum guarantee on sales that would match what we’d be wanting to earn if we were just selling Ooblets across all the stores.” They also say “we got some cash money upfront from the deal so we can make the game we always wanted to with fewer compromises.”

Let it go my guy. If you want to see it on PC eventually, buy the game this year. I'm going to buy it, not just because it's a college game, but also as an investment of sorts. If the big payoff isn't immediate, that's ok. Although the game looks better than I thought it would.

I can get it on PS4, it's not a problem. Frankly, I don't care if it is on PC or not, but if the developers had more money to work with, they could make a better game. I thought I'd enlighten them to the potential opportunity that Epic could offer.Comment

Do you really think they haven't done their due diligence?

Look at how they responded. They didn't know about Epic guaranteeing exclusives break even.
I don't know why you think these devs are omnipotent.Comment

Re: Doug Flutie's Maximum Football - FAQ
Secondly, he gave other reasons for why he simply won't have the time for a PC release.
Thirdly, Epic games doesn't just give everyone money who asks them. They will likely look at their case and either accept or deny the claim for endorsement. Based on Maximum Football's current state and recent attempt on PC, they will assuredly deny it. This title needs a lot more work before they consider anything on that front.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Firstly, "they" is an incorrect pronoun here. Only one individual said that.
Secondly, he gave other reasons for why he simply won't have the time for a PC release.

Firstly, they would have said they had talked to Epic if they had.
Secondly, they were very legitimate reasons that I accept, but that $1 million might make tolerable.
Thirdly, I never said they would. I said the team could contact Epic and see.
Lastly, this argument is pointless and I will never get back the minute or so it took to type this.Comment

I see his points as valid. I don't play football games on pc.Im buying this on ps4 or xbox, but due to the customization that you'd be able to do on pc. I would buy the game on consle and pc.
Main point is relax it's a video game, and he just brought a new point to the table that they may explore for next year behind the scenes.Comment

Calm down. I feel you guys are over reacting. Obviously everyone knows it isn't coming to pc this year, it's too late in the dev cycle. That gentleman was just bringing points up to the developer that it appears they didn't even know that could help with additional funding.

I appreciate the support. It's amazing how quickly conversations on the internet devolve into vitriol.Comment
