I just got home, deleted all of my files. Reloading your roster update, reorder the depth chart, went to coach now, everything seemed fine. Went to start a career, and it froze. If you select your team and coach right away, it seems fine.

Re: Roster Update Question for PS3 Users
@ Cage: I sent you the default PS roster per email. Maybe you can replace it with the version that works for you and send it back?
Thanks in advance...My Miami Dolphins HC 09 dynasty:

Re: Roster Update Question for PS3 Users
OK once I get home tonight Ill tear the file down... There has to be something not right in the porting of it over. All the players mentioned prior are not part of the master file so they shouldn't be on any roster. Something clearly is not right with the rosters. As far as overall ratings those will not change once in career mode.. NOTHING can be done about that. Last time I will address that.
I'm willing to do what I can to bring this to you guys but you must understand there are limitation beyond my control.
These rosters will not function properly if even 1 small thing is out of place. Each team is required to have 11 coaches if even 1 didn't port over it will throw the whole thing out of wake. However this doesn't explain how it works on mine and not yours.
Also each roster can not have over 74 players.
If one team is at even 1 over the game will not function. I will also check roster sizes since it seems some players from the orginail roster are still on this roster.
I'll have a fix tonight and upload 1 final roster for Ps3 owners...

Re: Roster Update Question for PS3 Users
Was finally able to duplicate the freezing and pinned down the issue.
Going to have to rebuild the entire coaching file from scratch.
In the mean time a work around would be when the game loads and ask you to select your favorite team, select the team you want to coach. This will insure all other cpu coaches are up to date as well
Its gonna take time to rebuild ever coach for every team. 352 in all ....
Here is an updated roster file... I deleted the entire default roster and ported over my newest roster update.
Every player is updated based on Maddens week 1 roster update.
There should be no trace of any rookies or player stats from 09 ...
Roster v5 here

Re: Roster Update Question for PS3 Users
The workaround doesn't work for me, either. I can select the coach of the team I picked as favourite team (Dolphins) and start with him. I can select the playbooks. Then I can select a roster file (e.g. load roster now or default). After that I can select if I want to start preseason or offseason. Then I get to the screen where everything is summarized. As soon as I want to continue from there the game freezes again. My Miami Dolphins HC 09 dynasty:

Can you try that and see if you can create a new coach if that will work. Maybe you can re create Joe Philban ...

Re: Roster Update Question for PS3 Users
Try this ....
Load roster .... Select favorite team / team you intend to coach - Go into my coach - file management - auto reorder every teams depth chart - save and back out. Start new career - create new coach and see if that allows you to start.
When loading the roster for the very first time some teams have 0 players on their roster until you auto reorder the depth charts
I have a career going with Denver using a created coach. I've simmer 2 seasons and restarted over and am 2 games into the regular season with no issues. Ive began rebuilding the coaching file buts its gonna take a week or so the rebuild completely.
I'm using a default ps3 roster to build this instead of porting over my prior work.

Re: Roster Update Question for PS3 Users
Doesn't work for me either. I still have another workaround that lets you start a career with the new rosters, it's not perfect but for the time being it works:
- load the old default rosters
- start a new career
- select your coach, playbooks, etc.
- select to start in preseason
- when game asks you which rosters you want to use, choose 'Load Roster Now'
- now load the new rosters
The game will run with the new rosters without any serious issues and the old coaches (as well as old playbooks & philosophies) will automatically be replaced by the new ones.My Miami Dolphins HC 09 dynasty:

Re: Roster Update Question for PS3 Users
Cage,
Thanks for all the work so far the rosters look great.
I started looking into this as i want to be able to edit my own rosters.
I assume you used bruteforce and then the NCAA Editor or is there another editor you used?
I tried it and couldn't get the players to pop up but the coaches did.
Edited a coach, saved etc and apparently I did something wrong as the file was corrupted, but i will try again.

The Madden editor gives you the ability to export your data (PLayers, Coaches) to a CVS file then to import them back in.
Instead of using coaches Ive already created Im gonna try updating the default coaches from the PS3 version. Gonna take a bit of time to update 352 coaches but hope since Im not importing data it will stop the freezes...
was gonna test this by updating 1 team but then realized if you take a coach from 1 team (example Fox from the Panthers) he has to be replaced with another. With no way to create a coach and there be a specific number that has to be on every team, its a process to move around coaches.Last edited by xCAGEx; 09-25-2013, 11:45 AM.Comment

Re: Roster Update Question for PS3 Users
Cage,
Thanks for the reply.
I am using the editor now and it is pretty slick.
Is there a translation of the Table codes to skill tree?
I've been able to figure out only a few: ex "COPS" is coaching position
I'd like to help at all if possible with updating coaches.Path to the Hall of Fame: Guts, Glory and Gangrene:

@ Cage: I don't want to sound greedy but is there any chance you could post a list of the playbooks assigned to each team in your roster file?My Miami Dolphins HC 09 dynasty:
