Another Cowboy gets fined, and this time it's deserved

I went on and on about how BS the fine of Darren Woodson was for what was a classic, clean football hit.

That said, my guy Roy Williams deserved his fine for whatever it was that he was thinking in the Detroit game. He had the receiver down, then basically picked him back up and drove his head into the turf.

Stupid penalty and a deserved fine. Shame, shame, Roy. No more of that, OK?

I didnt see the Roy Williams hit yet. But I gotta agree with you on the Woodson hit, he looked to me to be with in the rules of the game.

Don't even get me started on the Rodney Harrison fine and suspension.

You know what BK? Since it was on Rice, I guess I am supposed to tell you it was deserved, but it was a beautiful, clean hit.

I think they are getting a little carried away with the flags. For God's sake...Jack Tatum and George Atkinson would have been incarcerated.

Tatum would be doing 20 to 25 in solitary. lol

I mean, stuff like fat a$$ Tony Siragusa piling onto Gannon and trying to hyperextend his elbow, or Charles Martin picking up Jim McMahon and slamming him...okay fine them, suspend them, whatever. the extracirricular BS is uncalled for, but clean shots during the play?????? Come on..

Yeah, what Roy did was uncalled for. Typical rookie mistake, I'm sure Woodie got on him about it. Just taking out frustrations....It's gonna be a long year, he's not used to losing.

Howie the funny thing is Harrison wasn't even penalized on that play. Gene Washington suspended him anyway.

Right...he wasn't flagged, nor should he have been. I think they are taking away a big part of the game. Tatum used to freely admit he would allow a couple of receptions over the middle, just so he could stick the WR. After a good shot or two, they wouldn't catch anything else.

Guys like Atwater and Harrison make their living hitting people, and if they start over regulating the games and fining people who aren't even penalized, a dangerous precedent is set.

The AFC West has had some big time hitters in its days. Tatum, Harrison, Atwater, and don't forget Kenny Easley of Seattle.

Easley was a beast..he and Jacob Green rooted a pretty stout defense. Even w/ the 80's Raiders you would get popped. Vann McELroy and Mike Davis would drill you, and so would my favorite 80's DB, Lester Hayes. Haynes wasn't really a brutal hitter, but man could he cover.

Sure makes me long for days past.

Don't forget Howie, Eddie Anderson could bring it too, he was a little slow, but he was a hitter.

I remember one game back in the 80's, Vann McElroy tried to twise Wes Chandler's head right off his body. Boy what a rivalry it was back in those days.

It is ALWAYS appropriate to fine a cowboy. You don't need a reason other than the fact that they are cowboys.
