If he had not gotten all those advertising dollars then I'm sure he would've held out too. But basketball is different from football since there is a fixed rookie pay scale.

He couldn't really ask for more, wasn't his last year the highest paid year for a salary sport ever?

Yes I realize that, it was just an example.

As for the contracts not being gauranteed I'm also aware of that but the signing bonuses ARE gauranteed so it's not like he's not getting any money at all.

If it's true that Leinart received an offer less than Cutler then Leinart definitely has reason to complain.

You guys would likely be doing the same if your career could end in just a few years and even if your career is considered long by NFL standards, it is still very short compared to most people's career. Besides, it's not like his not being in camp is hurting the team as he is just a backup.

It's funny how everyone else gets called selfish for holding out while Leinart gets a free pass.

Leinart will now sitout the entire season and re-enter the 2007 NFL Draft.

If it's true that Leinart received an offer less than Cutler then Leinart definitely has reason to complain.
