Re: Favre to the Vikings?
It looks like a done deal, Vikes fans.
Last nights sports news showed a tape of Favre working out with the local HS team like he has the past few years.
To me, it looks like it's all about Brett. I think he would rather people remember him like Elway, walking off in the sunset with a SB ring. The Vikings give him the most chances for that to happen.Comment

Or that the Vikings are the ONLY possible choice for him to try and get one.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Favre to the Vikings?
Even if Favre did win a SB this year with the Vikes (which won't happen), it still won't help his damaged relationship with Packers fans nor will it undo the damage he's done to his reputation and image. Elway didn't have those obstacles to overcome.
I keep hearing Vikings fans say "we don't need him to throw 35 times a game, we just need Favre to be a caretaker and hand off to AP". Well, you just signed a guy who's capable of being a caretaker and handing off the ball. You don't need Favre for that. Bad decisions are bad decisions regardless of how many times you throw. And nobody makes bad decisions more frequently that cost his team games (or seasons) than Brett Favre.Comment

Re: Favre to the Vikings?
(Taken from a news story)Brett Favre's fan base is dwindling faster than his arm strength.LOL.
Seriously, if Brett were to even make it to the playoffs with the Vikes, I don't see how he could ever recover any kind of fan base. The Jet fans were fine with him leaving. If there is no Super Bowl, Viking fans will discard him like yesterdays trash. I don't see how he could be inducted into the Packer Hall of Fame(let alone Canton) without being booed. I have never seen that happen before.
As far as the Vikings, I think it is a good move. I don't think they would win the division with either of their two starting qb's. I am just wondering what they do with 4 qb's on their roster. When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”Comment

Re: Favre to the Vikings?
I said it before and i'll say it again: If people think they are getting 2007 Brett Favre, then they are in for a rude awakening. He can't resist the urge anymore to go out there and try to win every game by himself.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Favre to the Vikings?
Just heard on the radio(K-Favre sports talk) that the $20 mil offered by the Pack is off the table. I hadn't heard that and don't know when it happened. I would think if the Pack thought Favre to the Vikes this year was a major threat the offer would still be there. When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”Comment

Re: Favre to the Vikings?
When the clock starts and he's on the field, Favre just wants to win, but none of this crap has to do with winning a SB. If he goes it'd be all about revenge. The Vikings just hope that that's enough to help them win a SB. So much for team chemistry.Comment

Re: Favre to the Vikings?
Or they think that the allure of Favre in the "family" would quickly disappear if he signed with the Vikings and the thought isn't worth $20 mil.Comment

Re: Favre to the Vikings?
But he hasn't signed there yet. Why would it be off the table before he signs there? He isn't worth a pack of gum to the Pack after he signs with the Vikings. When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”Comment

Re: Favre to the Vikings?
But you see he's already losing fans left and right. It's extremely transparent that he wants to go to the Packers' biggest rival with the sole purpose of sticking it to the organization and specifically to beat them twice. Even if he doesn't go, he burned the bridge, collected the ashes and poured more gas to burn them some more. Hopefully one day the relationship can be mended, but there's no way the proud Packers are going to let Favre decide between taking $20 mil from them or starting at QB for the Vikings.Comment

I know you have been saying he only wants to get back at the Packers. The chance to win a super bowl is also a huge motivator here. When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”Comment
