OFFENSE
-change the direction of the running play without shifting the formation.
-direct wr's to cut off their pattern and go where you want them to go.
-direct downfield blockers.
-pre snap hot routes:
Wheel (Push up on the R3 stick)
Smash ( Push down on the R3 stick)
Flat left ( Push left on the R3 stick)
Flat right ( Push right on the R3 stick)
DEFENSE
-when ball is snapped, push down on R3 stick to tell lb's and db's to attack run. if you guess wrong, there is a chance db's will get burnt.
-when ball is snapped, push up on R3 stick to tell db's to drop further back in coverage (according to one write up, this feature helps against corner route)
-pre snap:
push down on R3 stick to bring safety up to line of scrimmage (8 Man front)
-push left to tell safeties to "roll" towards the x receiver, or push right to tell safeties to roll towards z receivers..

I might be wrong, but I am almost positive you can do all this stuff in 2k3 already.
The only thing I think you can't do in NFL2k3 is direct downfield blockers.
NOW do you guys see why we need SEGA/VC to keep going??!!! If it weren't for them...Madden wouldn't have playmaker control...a feature EA markets as an "Innovation". Competition is healthy.
