Broadcast views
I just was viewing a thread on this site about "broadcast camera in video games. To me it's pointless. I cant play Madden or NHL or NBA games with a side to side view. I cants see the play breaking down in front of me. I cant teell whos open and then the view throws off the aiming controls as well. But me personally I would perfer to see the actual games shown from views like we see in the video games. I think seeing from behind the play would help the viewer see what actually happened on those plays. What the teams saw, how the play brokedown. what happened to make that play happen and i thing the viewers just from seeing from that perspective would gain a better understanding of whats going on. Football especially. Seeing the recievers run their routes and seeing the QB make his reads. Or the running back finding his hole. I think its time for the NFL and also the NHL and NBA to start showing whats happening from behind the play instead of from the sidelines.Tags: None -
Re: Broadcast views
Interesting views there.
CBS and NBC back in the late '70s and most of the '80s had endzone replay and live play cameras. Of course, they didn't use it all the time but at times they would show a couple or so plays from the endzone camera or show some replays using those cameras. It was pretty interesting but at the same time frustrating.
Most of the time they used the cameras when teams were situated inside the 50 of the side where the camera was so you'd see the action but because this was pre HD you didn't get the full wide screen effect to see the entire field. Replays were pretty good with these cameras though especially when looking at whether someone made a catch or how they ran their route.
I think these cameras with the added help of the skycam can be used much the same way today and come off very well especially with HD cameras so that you get the full effect of seeing the entire field.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Broadcast views
well another point io forgot to address in my original post. Say brian westbrook just escaped from the pile and starts running all alone for a score. you wonder how the hell that just happened and are waiting for the replay that shows you him hitting the hole in seemingly slow motion and then exploding through. But my thing is they have the technology to show us these views live and actually see the hole developing infront of our eyes instead of waiting for a replay. I really think these games should be broadcast from this view. How do we go about suggesting this to fox cbs nbc, nfl network.Comment

Re: Broadcast views
Hey how about a shower cam in the locker room, for after the game,..so we can experience what players do after the game.Comment
