Yeah your right.......Madden had the ambulance on like Madden 95 for Super Nintendo or something..
I dont care about these animations, just gimme the player, the injury, and the length of time he's out.Comment

Re: Why is it hard to show something like this?....
I seem to remember the ps1 Maddens also had cut scenes where a player would help some one injured off the field, too.
It not really that important to me, but anything is better than Madden's "beached whale" animation.Comment

Re: Why is it hard to show something like this?....
I'm not sure what sprites have to do with anything. The technology is and has been in place for a long time to do this properly.
I was talking to an administrator in the forum at NFL2KX and he brought up that it's something the NFL would not approve of. This may be true. But when you think about it critically, you have to ask yourself, why?
Look at this:
When a player is injured in NFL 2K3, almost no matter what happens to him he's hopping around on one foot shaking his hand. This is stupid. But still he is showing pain.
Then there are instances when the player will be down on the ground shaking and showing pain.
Now I ask you, don't both of those scenes show an ugly side of the game? espcially the one when the player is on the ground? Would'nt it only be appropriate to show the trainers rushing onto the field to carry the player out?
Of course it would!
How the NFL could possibly object to something so logical I'm not understanding. To me it shows an uglier side of things if the player is just laying there and nobody comes out to help him. Plus it's just plain stupid.
I've said it once and i'll say it again, I don;t think the NFL has anything to do with this not being in the game, I just think developers are not regarding it as important to have it programmed in.
Regardless, this scene NEEDS to be in the game!Comment

EXACTLY!
Its nuances like this that give the game some meat on its bones as far as presentation and realism goes.
Guys say its unimportant but I bet if VC or Tiburon had some awesome injury cutscenes thos same guys would be the first to open a thread..."WOW! Concussions never Looked So Good!"

The Chain Gang is something that definitely should be back. It was an exciting cut scene that was important to the game.Comment
