This is just like Chad Johnson wanting to fight in the UFC. Either just shut up and keep it out of the media or put your money where your mouth is and actually do it.

One catch over the middle and he'd call it quits. The worst an NBA player takes is an elbow to the face or landing awkwardly after dunking/getting dunked on. Not so much in the NFL, where the body's limits are tested on nearly every play.

No knock on James, who is an amazing talent, but his body is not accustomed to the rigors of football play nor would he be able to adjust mentally to the game. Football is such a brutal, physical sport that if you don't condition your body for it then you can suffer big time.

People also forget it's not just "plug in and play" like in video games. Players have to learn offenses, reading defenses, schemes, BLOCKING, technique, etc. I understand James played in high school but I can't remember the last NFL talent to skip NCAA-football and even make a slight impact on the NFL level.

He was an All Ohio WR his Sophmore year before he hung up the cleats. There's highlights of him out there blowing by DB's (granted, high school DB's, just saying).

LeBron's speed with his frame, he's be an all-pro year in and year out tight end.

All I can say: for every Mike Mamula, Tony Mandarich, Jamarcus Russell, Vernon Gholston, Ron Dayne, there is a Zach Thomas, Tom Brady, etc. Physical talent alone doesn't guarantee success in the NFL, in fact, it's the downfall of most players.

Would be good at catching Fade route passes at the end zone.

Lebron would get destroyed in the NFL.

I find both of these hard to believe just because Lebron is very similar in speed but much heavier. He would have more mass coming into the contact.

Ray Lewis and Ed Reed look cool blowing up guys there size and smaller, but if they come against someone with more mass behind them, I think the situation changes.

Not anymore it isn't. It's watered down powder puff these days compared to what it used to be. These days you get flagged for even breathing on recievers.

I don't think you necessarily have to have 'more mass' to blast somebody and put them to sleep for a few seconds..... And IMO, the argument is moot. LeBron probably won't EVER play a down for the Browns. I think we all realize that, but it does make for interesting conversation.

Don't make it seem like it's ballet out there. It's still way more physical and brutal then anything LeBron has ever done in his life. LeBron would be KILLED if he ever attempted this. I can imagine Bron going down the middle, getting knocked silly and being out for a few weeks with a concussion.

Why doesn't this happen to every other receiver?

What makes LeBron so much weaker than everyone else?

I'm not saying LeBron is weaker it's just that he's not used to being hit in that way. It's like taking a guy off the street and asking him to play WR in the NFL. Either he's gonna get seriously hurt or concussed.
