Cant take it that a game is better for the PS2? That must be why your arguing b/c to me .1 PT is NO DIFFERENCE at all.

Im telling you the reason Y they gave ps2 better is b/c the controls are 100%better/easier on PS2.

i dont see how the playstation controls are better when nfk2k series started on the dreamcast and the xbox controls are more like the dreamcast ones! but whatever it dont bother me i have all three systems and will be getting madden and nfl2k3 on the xbox to add to my collection of ncaa 2003 and nfl fever..

I think the sounds were lower on the Xbox because the sound mix were terrible. When playing NFL on a DD system there are some sound effect problems coming out of the wrong speakers.

1) QB speech such as calling audibles comes out of the rear speakers and not the front speakers.

2) PA music, announcer, referee is not in surround sound. Their voices only comes out of the center speaker.

3) Often when the away team is on the left side of the screen their voice will only come out of the right speaker when calling Heads or Tails.

Non of these problems are on the PS2 so maybe that's why the Xbox lost the .5 in the sound category.

the QB speech in the back is fine. and isn't the ref supposed to come out of the center speaker?

If you add up the scores you will see that the xbox should have a better overall score.The only reason xbox got lower was because it didnt take full advantage of the system.It is still going to be a little better then the ps2 no matter what.

Relax, the reason for the different scores at IGN is because different people reviewed the games for each system. Most likely, they'll do a comparative review within a few weeks, and as usual the Xbox version will come out on top.

okay, somebody said that they all had the same reviewer. If so, my bad. I still think the 3 ratings are indiscriminate (is that a word?) of one another. IGN will do a true comparison soon.

The only reason that bothers me is that people who actually sadly rely on this for their buying needs will be misinformed.

I haven't watched Football for awhile but I remember the refs use the PA system when calling out the penalties and it echos throughout the stadium.

Either way, i'm going to get the Xbox version because the graphics looks better to me and I only want to play people with broadband online.

guys everyone knows the XBOX version is going to be the best of the bunch which is becoming more and more with games across all platforms . obviously with the horse power the box has the least slow down , bump mapping ect . ALL 3 will play the same . . Im getting Madden for my PS2 for the online but if it didnt have that id get the XBOX version for sure . and yes the games were reviwed by diffrent people and im sure they will do a comparison with all 3 systems like they always do with big games . another cool thing is with online play the XBOX version will be a bit diffrent than the PS2 where they said the PS2 would pretty much be a direct port of the DC interface . but i havent seen the XBOX version or the PS2 to comment so ill wait and see . also i dont think the review was bad at all , if anything it was one of the most detailed reviews ive ever seen for a football game . definitely more in depth than the Madden review was . , one things for sure ...i WILL be getting both . this is my fav time of year ...its almost like having 2 christmas days !!

Keep in mind to that IGN is not great with sports review, as are most of the big name web game sites. They play lots of games like final fantasy and grand theft auto, they seem to miss a beat when talking about sports games.
IGN gave NCAA2k3 a 6.8, it is not nearly that bad, trust reviewers from sports-games only sites, not IGN or Gamespot.

ZXLT I give you permission to copy and paste my post in the ign post over there. It is in the thread something aint right with the 2k3 reviews. And I am sorry folks Chris was the same reveiwer for 2k3 across platforms. Ask him what was his reasoning for giving the Xbox score a lower score than the PS2. Look 2k3 is on top in my book, but I am not blind to bad reasoning. I know what's going on here. Chris didn't review madden nor has he played it, but they wanted to make sure 2k3 was tops on all platforms and since the other reviewer gave madden a 9.1 on the PS2 he had to give 2k3 a 9.2 on the PS2. He didn't have to make that stretch on the Xbox cause Madden on the box only got an 8.8. It is clear to me the reasoning behind the reviews, which is rather faulty. For instance the review is a copy and past job for the most part the sound and the gameplay scores are the same write up for both reviews (PS2 and Xbox) but the scores are different. On the PS2 sound was given a 8.5 on the Xbox it was given an 8. Gameplay PS2 was given a 9.3, gameplay on the Xbox was given a 9. Well since the review is basically a copy and paste job then why the divergence? Now had he said, well the PS2 Dual shock feels better and makes the gamplay slightly more enjoyable then that would have been fine. But he doesn't do that. He leaves it as is. The contents of both reviews is sound IMO, but the scores are problematic.
That's why the scores are NOT cumulative in either review, which means there is a high degree of subjectivity going on there. But anywhooo I will be done with this and go get my game on
