Yeah, they missed their opportunity to jump out to a good start.

Your Skins may be the team to beat in the East now!

i wish. i do think they can compete with the other three teams though. and they have the last place schedule which could help. time will tell, but i am certain that on their way to a 12 win season the cowboys had counted these first 2 towards that total. now the pressure will be on to get to 10 wins imo...

As far as Bryant, I like him as well, I think he's going to a very good player. But if you look at it,they have used their last two first round picks on WR's (Bryant, and Williams Trade). I am not sure with the makeup of this team, that that was prudent.
It's because Jones thinks they have a Pats/Colts type passing game, where they can throw whenever they want on anybody. Only he still hasn't realized that Tony Romo is their QB, not Peyton Manning, not Tom Brady. And unlike those two guys, they actually have a running game. They should embrace the fact that they don't have to throw 50 times a game, instead of you know, throwing 50 times a game and losing. Sure it's going to get Romo his stats, but it's going to lose games, like it has been.

Ah, sorry man. Sarcasm doesn't come out in straight test well. Use a wink or smirk smiley next time, haha.

I agree fully with you, a team never seems to beat the Cowboys in the eyes of many.

all good. btw, i loved watching that game yesterday. i was a bears fan as a kid and love seeing them do well, except when they play the 'skins. walter payton and riggo were the first players i identified with as a kid, great memories of those teams in the 80's...

I think we're going to be in for another air attack from Romo against Houston. In both of Houston's games, they've given up 400 yds through the air which leads me to believe Jason Garrett is going to have Romo throw 50 times again.

Nope. But every legit elite SB contending team has at least truly great player. Or so the theory goes.

I understand your line of thinking clearly BK, and for the most part I agree with it.

Although I'd contend that Demarcus Ware can fit into the category of a game-changing elite player that other teams have to gameplan for, at least from a pass-rushing perspective, we certainly don't have one of those top-tier game-changing players on offense (Witten may be top-tier but he's not a game-changer), rather we seem to have a collection of good to very-good players mainly in the skill position areas and with holes at the less glamorous positions.

All that said, we certainly don't look to be Super Bowl contenders right now.

2006 Bears? According to most folks assesment of the Bears around here, I can't think of a single truly GREAT player on that team or does losing in the SB now equal not being a SB contender?

Wasn't Urlacher still an elite MLB at that point?

Maybe the 2007 Giants are a better example; they didn't really have an elite player on offense when they won, however their defensive front seven was ferocious.

There are exceptions to the rule. They also had a dominant defense and ran the ball well. They also caught lightning in a bottle and Grossman played beyond his talent at the right time.

Krioniq, agreed on Ware. He's a great player, and a game changer on defense.

It was just an observation that i heard today. And the more I thought about it the more it made some sense. All of the legit big time SB contending teams right now have at least one great game changing type player, particularly on offense.

Is there anyone on their offense you could classify as great? I am not sure.

And please for the love of all things holy, get the ball in Felix Jones hands in space more than once a half.

I think Briggs was the better player that year. And Hester was truly a game changer that year as well.

Of course in the big game, they lost to the team with the great QB who makes his offense better by just being there.

I think BK is talking about strictly on Offense and not Defense and if that's the case then I agree with him.
