LOL. If you have an opinion based on a bunch of incidents you shouldn't be a fan?

    LAME.

So punching a lineman on a pile with no helmet is the way the game is meant to be played. That happened this year vs Broncos but I chose to not bring it up.

      Give me a break.

Not to mention the main offender in the Merriman incident is still there.

I guess he just plays the game right as well.

I try not to get into these "The Titans Are Dirty" conversations but I'll throw my two cents in. For one thing, alot of dirty things happen in every game. I will admit that Finnegan can be cheap. But, I also think there is a difference in being a dirty/cheap team and just a hard nosed, physical, and aggressive team.

Believe it or not, worse things happen on a pile. No it's not the way the game was meant to be played, but that is the way it is played.

IMO the Titans have a tendency to be dirty. I can see how Titans fans try to defend their team, but there is a point that crosses the line between logical and homerism.

This has nothing to do with last week, either. The Titans played a clean game last week. This goes back to me reading up on that Titans-Chargers game where Merriman and others got hurt

You take away the two isolated Chargers incidents and there's little else to talk about. A freak occurance with Albert Haynesworth is just that and is irrelevant to the discussion of a team being dirty.

There's a reason this thread has gone this way and other Titans game threads haven't - Chargers fans have a beef with the way some of the last few Titans games have been played by the Titans. I don't know why this is the case, maybe Fisher picked up a dislike for the organisation during his days in SoCal, but it is what it is. On the topic of homerism, Chargers fans have to realize there is an existence for the Titans outside of Chargers games.

And there's little coincidence why teams that consistently try and field defensive teams are considered dirty by a lot of opposing fans, noone likes seeing their team being beat up physically even if it isn't reflected on the score board.

Like Nza said, take away the two Charger incidents and there isn't even much to talk about. And I'll agree with Nza that alot of aggressive defenses seem to get the dirty team label.

It was actually more than 2 incidents with the Chargers.

But yes, it's merely a figment of Chargers fans imaginations. It's the Chargers fans fault for their rep.

And please, in the Chargers games, the Titans defense was not physically beating up the Chargers, not to mention the two biggest incidents came from the Titans offense, because they were in fact getting manhandled.

Well to be fair, that's like saying "If you took away those 2 losses, the Titans would be undefeated"

I'm not saying that are 100% a dirty team, just saying they have a tendency to be dirty

                      anyway,

moving on to the subject of the game

My theory is if we can just get to the mid 1st quarter/2nd quarter without giving up something stupid, I think we can prevail. Having watched the Titans, it seems like when we play someone where we get amped up for Chargers, Steelers, Colts, we always seem to give up something stupid quickly. IE a kick return, a long pass, that quite simply takes us out of the game mentally early. If we can sustain a decent drive or get a quick 3 and out on D to start, I can see us winning.

if we throw an early INT, give up something big early, I think itll be one of those days.

the only thing I can say though is I really felt like the Eagles game was going to be "one of those days" and it was, through 3 quarters, but they surprised me by getting back into it and winning. I feel good going into this game but I think 1 or 2 plays will win it or lose it. If they are all jacked up and over pursue on special teams or defense, I can see this being one of those days but if they prevail early I think we got it.

oh and for the record, since Chargers fans want to keep dropping knowledge on us, we shuld have beat you guys 2 years ago. The game where LT ran in a TD in OT for the win, yeah, we were winning by a TD late in the game and the pass hit the ground but we didnt have any challenges left and they called in a completion when it was obviously hit the ground, then they scored a TD to go into overtime. We dominated you that game and you guys got that lucky break late in the game to pull it out, then you beat us in the wild card round that year as well, but we played tough. Last year was what it was, you guys seem to catch us on down years but any time we have even brought a halfway decent team, you guys have barely won or just pulled it out.

Truly unbelievable how bad this ST's unit has become.

At this rate SD will be drafting a ST player in the first round, I mean my god. I expect the defense to be very stingy in this game. They're going to have to work for it....I hope. CJ can go off at anytime.

Of course, a draw that works once out of every 10 times it's ran.
