You cant blame accuracy on receivers.

Re: Rivers or Vick: Who is Playing at a Higher Level?

Who's TEAM is having the better season?

This was supposed to be a rebuilding season for the Eagles. They weren't supposed to be good. Kolb goes down, Mike Vick steps in, and they're one of the better teams in the league. Possibly the best in the NFC. All stats aside, as they're both putting up ridiculous numbers, who's team is positioned to make a deep playoff run? Who's team is teetering on mediocrity?

And if you want to talk about past successes, which of them has had more post season success?

I think the answer to the OP's question is Mike Vick, without question. We're in love with numbers, but what does it matter if you aren't winning?

Also, people are discounting Vick's mobility and his ability to protect the ball. Those are both important factors which many of those engaging in this debate seem to be ignoring. For example, with the pressure the G-Men were bringing last Sunday, most QB's would have been murdered.

How has Vick had more post season success? Rivers has more post season wins and Vick's last playoff win was in 2004.

You're right, Rivers shoud have been playing on the special teams and maybe the Chargers would be 8-2 right now.

              clearly not a team player

              just kidding.

I would really like to see how each QB would do if we switched which team they were on.

              /madden rant on

OOO lets try that in MADDEN!!! oh wait nm too unrealistic.

I doubted you Roy Williams since you only won with a someone else's team... Now you have proven me wrong.

              You have earned my respect.

Re: Rivers or Vick: Who is Playing at a Higher Level?

As a fan of neither team, I honestly have loved watching both play this year. They're just fantastic.

Over the course of the season, Rivers has been at a higher level more consistently, no question. But over the past couple games, Vick's been at a level that's simply stratospheric. If he keeps it up, he'll be the runaway MVP.

Rivers is very accurate, more so than Vick. He's surprisingly mobile. But he's perhaps a little too reliable, and if SD's offense have a sin, it's losing the ball in the end zone (one reason Seattle managed to beat them). Vick, on the other hand, could pass, run, pitch or pull a rabbit out of a hat. 11 players simply isn't enough to consistently cover options the options open to him. So I pick Vick, though it's close.

A more entertaining question, for all the wrong reasons, is Hasselbeck versus Whitehurst...

Because Vick has taken a talentless team to the NFC championship. Philip Rivers hasn't yet gotten that far. And least we forget, Vick has only played two full seasons as a starting QB since 2004.

Yes he really should have, did you see that tackle he made in pre-season!? Coaches got a special teams ace right in front of them and they aren't utilizing his talents.

Rivers has indeed gone to the AFC Championship, you may want to check your facts. BTW that Atlanta team was hardly talentless. Rivers has never missed the playoffs as a starter, has more playoff wins, and has gone just as far as Vick.

So how is Vick more succesful in the post season again?

lol @ Vick having more Playoff success than Rivers. That's not even debatable. Rivers has more Playoff wins, trips, and has gone just as far as Vick.

Rivers went to the AFC Championship Game against the pats in 2007? Correct me if I'm wrong.

                          EDIT: BK beat me.

About Vick and the "Teams" Record.

The one really great team they beat (The Falcons)
it was with KOLB at Qb.

I'm starting to think the whole who they played argument should be thrown out this season. Every team this year is capable of beating any team. Their are hardly any blow outs an even the teams people consider to be bad (bills, browns) are beating good teams or taking them down to the wire. The only truly bad team this year are the Panthers imo.

                                Jags, Colts, and Giants?

EDIT: And if you want to play that game, who have Rivers and the Chargers beaten? Their best win is Jacksonville(which is also a team Vick and the Eagles beat). Chargers also have a few losses against bad/mediocre teams.

As I said before, I'm with Rivers in this debate, but that argument is terrible.
