What's Philip Rivers done over Rodgers to make him Top 5?

i am not a " i got a SB win so i am a great clutch winner" fanboy

so rivers got him on the numbers and rivers is a threat season after season.

lets wait and see how rogers does now that teams are gunning for him as a big time player, because as talented as he is, he wasn't considered an elite player until maybe 2 hrs ago............

i wont call this AR break out season, but no one expected this from him at this point, yes they /he got hot and win it all and he played well in the playoffs..... i loved to see the young bucks grow up however

to place him in the same boat with vets who have done work for years with teams gameplanning for you season after season is a bit too early.

this bandwagon praise is premature imo, he still goes to sleep in games way too often and can look clueless at times, not top 5

Have you watched any Packers games from the last 3 years?! He's been balling for 3 years, it's not like this is some breakout performance.

Ummm huh?

Rodgers was statistically better than Rivers last year, and fantasy wise (which is based on numbers), he was the #1 QB in the entire NFL last year. The dude has been elite the past 2 or 3 seasons but people like you haven't given him his due respect. Now he wins the Super Bowl with almost a flawless postseason and you don't think teams were planning on how to stop him? The Packers barely even run the ball but you think they gameplan for the running game instead of his passing? This is just ignorance...

Bandwagon Praise? Breakout year?? This is the third year in a row Rodgers has put up top 5 numbers. Also a ton of experts picked GB to make it to the Super Bowl this year. Apparently, you're the only one who has slept on him.

i have every nfl game on my mackbook pro for the last 5 seasons, so yes i have seen him play.

i like AR dont get me wrong.

but like i said no one expected this, no doubt he can play, i am very interested to see where he ends up amoung the QB leaders next season

Green Bay was a preseason favorite to make a SB run, due largely to the fact that Rodgers is one of the game's elite QB's.

after they beat the giants, i thought they were the best team in the nfc, i won money against a falcons fan,

not becuase i say he isn't a top 5 QB does not mean i dont admire/respect his game.....

i wanted the steelers to win, the dude played lights out and i called the came at the half in the other thread to the packers, i am not hating

i am just saying a SB win and 1 or 3 yrs dont make you an elite player, again whats up with eli in NY.....

No one expected this? Except most of the analysts on ESPN, SI, NFL Network, etc. who picked Green Bay to win the division.

Next year Aaron Rodgers probably ends up near the top statistically, just like he has the last 3 seasons.

Eli's never had one season remotely close to the way Rodgers has played the past two seasons. Rodger's FIRST season as a starter was better than Eli's best season, so get out of here with that.

I don't know about everyone else but, I've never considered Eli a top 5 QB. He's never had a season where he's hasn't thrown double-digit interceptions (well except his rookie year). Also, in his best year his stats are still worse than Rodgers in his worst year. The two aren't even in the same conversation as far as I'm considered.

As far as, no one expecting this... Even the majority of OS had GB winning the Super Bowl this year:
