Jacobs always talks, so that's nothing new.

Giants pass coverage is pretty horrible. Only one that can cover is Webster. T. Thomas injury is a killer for them. Plus they're #1 draft pick, Prince Amukamara (cb) hasn't made it on the field yet unfortunately. I'm surprised the Giants have done as well as they have so far. Shows how bad some of these teams in the league are.

FWIW, Coughlin made the call of the year by going for it on 4th and 6 on his own 35 with 3:something left down 7.

The math actually works out to going for it being the percentage play, by a significant amount.

It's true that failing to convert gives SF the ball in FG range (Aikman made a big deal about this and it certainly makes intuitive sense), but I'll bet a solid amount of money that Harbaugh would have dialed 3 straight runs into a brick wall and settled for the long FG.

Let it go. I'm sure it was only one or two posts (could be wrong) from Giants fans that totally dissed the 49ers, no need to stereotype the whole NYG fanbase.

Great win by the 9ers against a tough Giant team. Does this trigger NY's annual late season collapse??

Man I love the way the 49ers play.

Alex Smith is maturing (amazing what a game plan oriented around the strengths of the QB can do) and that defense is punishing.

            Plus. Patrick Willis.

49ers set to clinch before Thanksgiving??

I've been sorta watching the Niners' progress and i've liked the personnel ever since Singletary became the coach but well he showed he had no business being the head man. The one thing i'm most impressed with is how far Alex Smith has progressed. Jim Harbaugh may be an *** at times but he knows how to bring a QB along. I think it comes from his years as being a blood n' guts type of QB. He was never one of the most physically gifted guys but he found a knack for coming up big.

He's really taken this Niners team and given them the confidence AND the gameplan to succeed. If he doesn't win Coach of the Year then there's something wrong IMO.

Anyway I don't know why we ran a shotgun run play on 3rd and 2 as if we were able to run effectively at all the entire game. That forced yet another fourth down play and our luck had run out by then.

Mario Manningham needs to become a consistent player man. He could be so much better if he put the work in to crisp his routes not named a 9 route.

Our defense is terrible especially the pass defense but damn the run by hunter after the turnover sealed that puppy up. Can't keep having to come back at the end of the game. Every game this season has come down to the last 2 possessions.

And Antrelle Rolle needs to learn how to cover something. I hate him so much.

To be fair to Rolle, due to the injuries in the secondary he's forced to play out of position (alot more man to man coverage) They're using him as a cb in the nickel package with Phillips and Grant at safety.

He gave half of his talent to NaVorro Bowman for the good of the team and is still one of,if not THE best LB. Bowman actually has more tackles and is 2nd overall.

                      That's just scary.

If Bowman and Willis team up like that...wow.

My linebacker-loving self is just going to have to keep an eye on this. Never thought I'd be looking at becoming a 49ers fan, but defense-first teams ALWAYS get my attention, especially in this QB-rules-all mindset of the game.

What happened with Patrick Willis/Jake Ballard at the end of that game? I had to go to work during the 3rd quarter but my friends kept telling me something about Ballard/Willis on 4th and 2 with 40 ticks left in the game? I haven't had much time since then to really dig in to it but I heard there was a significantly big missed call at the end there.

Hats off to the Niners though, they look like they're "back".

Oh and, who is Alex Smith...and what did he do with Alex Smith? That guy looked halfway decent out there.

The same guy he's always been, he just doesn't have a mongoloid coaching him anymore. Alex has actually had flashes of brilliance for years, but nobody realizes this because they don't watch Niners games.

One of my best friends through the years is a Niners fan. He changed his opinion on the guy weekly it seemed. Good to see him finally in the right situation.

He was drafted as a cb so it's not really out of position. He's just not a good player. He's never been a good nfl player.
