How do we know he can still play at a high level? Injuries change things. That's the whole point.

There's also Wiffin for Griffin,the case for Case and ummm play horrible son for Wilson. (We need something for Wilson.)

The difference is that this is a neck injury, not something that would limit his throwing mechanics. If he gets the neck healed, he's good to go. It's not like Chad Pennington who lost all throwing power after his injury. Moreover, a big part of Manning's game is the cerebral aspect, and that won't go away.

I think you've got it backwards. Neck injuries are more serious than anything (besides maybe spine injuries?). It's insane that Ed Reed is still playing (especially with a new hip too). He may never be able to swing a golf club again, let alone throw a football. You never know.

This is exactly what I was getting at. Sure he might have a lot of football left in him, but he may never be able to play in the NFL again due to his neck.
