As of right now, our depth leaves a lot to be desired. Mainly on the OL and DL but we could use it just about everywhere. One thing we must get this year is a legitimate HB to run the ball along with Charles. Charles can't handle having the entire workload thrown onto him.

Regarding the Redskins I find it interesting that Haslett has been quoted saying that stuff. I happen to believe there's some truth to it. Haslett needs to learn that as sad as the Redskins are as an organization they have one of the strongest internet fanbases what with the couple or so big blogs dedicated to the team that has some credibility.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I'd hate for Haslett to have any input on choosing a QB or just have any knowledge of the situation at all lolSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

He wasn't too bad given what was available I just always hated his attitude, etc. Of course I was one of those that always wanted Delhomme in as a kid.
Carl Nicks does not want the franchise tag and wants a bigger contract then Jahri Evans who got the biggest contract for a guard ever, sooo yeah bye Nicks. Just go ahead a franchise tag Colston imo but that could be a problem as I hear Brees contract talks have gained little ground.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Drew Brees
Alex Smith
Ray Rice
Matt Forte
Marshawn Lynch
Payton Hillis
Vincent Jackson
Wes Welker
Reggie Wayne
Desean Jackson
Dwayne Bowe
Jermichael Finley
Carl Nicks
Mario Williams
Robert Mathis
John Abraham
Curtis Lofton
Brent Grimes
Cortland Finnegan
Laron Landry
The players I highlighted are some that I think will get picked up quickly. As a Colt's fan, it's really sad to see Reggie Wayne leaving the Colt's. (Most likely won't be resigned because he is being paid a lot.) The Colt's need to go after an explosive receiver who makes big plays like Desean Jackson or Wes Welker. Rumors are also going around that Tracy Porter is heading into free agency as well. If it's true then he would be invaluable to the Colt's because their DB's aren't that solid. While Tracy Porter isn't the most glorious Corner in the world, he would help out with the Pass Defense, this goes the same with Asante Samuel if the Eagle's decide not to resign him. The Colt's need to put a little bit of money into rebuilding their defense because it's not the hottest in the league. I'm also a bit scared the Andrew Luck will be a complete bust, just as Ryan Leaf was when the Colt's drafted Peyton Manning. I would rather get Alex Smith and see if he can keep up a solid performance.
As for the Chiefs, the injury to Jamaal Charles SUCKED. He's an epic Running Back. Same with Matt Cassel, good to see Chief fans sticking with it. Keep it up, they'll do better next season.Comment

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
The perception of Wayne took a pretty big hit with Peyton hurt but he's still in the class with the best WRs in the league. I'm not sure it'd make sense to let him walk to bring in a Desean Jackson (I wouldn't call Welker "explosive") who will need to be paid in the same ball park.Drew Brees

You're right about the Chiefs losing Charles, but they do need another RB to balance things out, even with him healthy. Personally, I didn't think the loss of Cassel was as big of a deal. I think it became a bigger deal bc they had already lost their best defender and RB who the entire offense was built around. I wouldn't push them getting rid of Cassel but wouldn't be surprised if they don't just hand him the keys to the car going into next season either.Comment

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
With a potential franchise-tag fight over whether he's a tight end or a receiver looming, Jermichael Finley and the Packers have come to terms on a new contract.
Packers resigned Jermichael Finley to a two year deal, just under 15 million.
Not sure if I like. Seems a little costly to me considering all the drops this year, but with his talent, some team would've thrown everything at him. Hopefully he solves his dropping problems.Comment

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
From the Packers' perspective, I love the Finley re-signing. While indeed they paid a big chunk of money to keep him - everyone knew that this would be the case - it's a short-term deal so it doesn't kill the team's long-term cap flexibility. It' works well for Finley too, as per-year breakdown of the deal puts him towards the wide receiver valuation of the franchise tag (vs. tight end, there was some debate as to what position he actually played more this year), and if he delivers on his sky-high potential it sets him up to be the highest-paid tight end in football after this contract ends.Comment

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
I like it.
Fair deal for both sides as it gives Finley 2 years to show that the drops won't be an issue and gives him another shot at his big money deal that he wants and it protects the team. If the team would've tagged him as TE then he would've got $5.4 Mil whereas if it was as a WR, then it's $9.4 Mil so $7.5 is right in the middle.
Hopefully Wells is next up next but now I wouldn't even be surprised if they franchised Flynn to try and get something in return for him. Almost kinda makes sense at this point.#RespectTheCultureComment

As much as I have hated on Finley lately I have to give him props for getting this done quickly and quietly. Clearly he had the best interest of the team in his mind here, nice to see.Comment

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
Yeah I have a feeling Flynn will fail miserably. I have no proof for this but it just seems like he will under perform for whatever team he gets moved to. I mean, if the Packers were so high on him wouldn't they keep him around for a little while longer as a solid backup to Rodgers?Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
