The NFL seems pretty up with the times with their testing period (for players who haven't gotten caught) being 4 months out of 12 and not during the season when players would presumably be smoking to offset pain and other things.

Seems about as equal as states moving to decriminalize marijuana offenses which I believe is at about half (with some going full on recreational). They're not openly saying smoke up but they're giving players a pretty large amount of leeway. That's why I can't feel bad for the guys who get caught. The NFL and law has given you some rope, but some dudes can't help but to hang themselves with it.

Exactly they the tests are random but they really aren't as Florio said. So I can't feel sorry that these guys are getting suspended for it.

Not to be a buzzkill, but I live five minutes away from the stadium and have an iPhone. I tried it several times and it didn't work.

Tray Walker, a fourth-round draft pick of the Ravens in 2015, suffered critical injuries in a motorcycle accident on Thursday night in Miami.

According to NBC Miami, Walker was involved in a crash at Northwest 21st Avenue and Northwest 75th Steer. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

A rookie who appeared in eight games last season, Walker grew up in Miami and played football at Miami Northwestern High School. His high school teammates included Teddy Bridgewater and Amari Cooper.

Not to be a buzzkill, but I live five minutes away from the stadium and have an iPhone. I tried it several times and it didn't work.

I actually did try it earlier today as soon as I saw it, and sure enough my phone dropped a pin right on FirstEnergy Stadium.

I'm gonna guess it has something to do with user-tagged location nicknames which later get cleared or removed. For example, for a while if you typed "Suplex City" into Google Maps, it'd take you to Levi's Stadium, the venue of WWE Wrestlemania 31.

Remember when PSI was a thing last year..

Last season, the NFL opted not to develop a full database of PSI readings from every game played, deciding instead to test air pressure on a random, sporadic basis.

After the 2015 season ended, the NFL opted not to release publicly any of the PSI readings, deciding instead to declare generally that there were no violations.

During Thursday’s conference call regarding proposed changes to the NFL’s rulebook, Ben Volin of the Boston Globe asked about the football custody and testing procedures adopted for 2015. NFL executive V.P. of football operations Troy Vincent said that there will be no changes for 2016.

“There is no need for us to change our pregame protocol that pertains to game balls,” Vincent said. “We had no violations of that process, we’ll continue to [handle footballs] in the manner we’ve set forth. . . . We focus on procedure, balls being brought to the stadium. There was no violation of game balls being checked in at the appropriate time. There was no violation of game balls being in the officials locker room, being brought to the field, back to the locker rooms at halftime, and then the balls being brought back to the locker room post game. So it’s the procedure of the balls themselves.”

Vincent didn’t address the question of whether any of the tested footballs were below 12.5 PSI, the minimum permissible inflation pressure. Which means that the public and the 32 franchises will continue not to know how a violation would be determined if/when the air pressure dips below the smallest allowable amount. Is there a minimum PSI reading under various weather conditions? Did the NFL re-enlist scientific assistance to confirm based on the weather conditions that any sub-12.5 PSI readings were consistent with the Ideal Gas Law?

The league undoubtedly wants to keep all PSI readings secret because some undoubtedly were below 12.5 PSI. And if the numbers were released, plenty of people would do the math to determine whether the actual in-game measurements confirm or debunk the notion that the Patriots deliberately removed air from the footballs used in the 2014 AFC championship game.

A reporter out of Florida said police are trying to interview a Patriots player about the accident but were unable to find him. Rashaan Melvin fits the bill seeing as he spent time in Baltimore. No confirmation on who the mystery player is yet though, or if a Patriots player was even there.

And no one else has had any report of this. So I'm starting to think it was clickbait. I first saw it around 10:30 last night and nobody else but that 1 guy had it.

Of course it was a Boston Globe guy grilling them about it lol. Can't imagine living in the Boston area and listening to that story dominate talk radio for the past year+. I would shoot myself.
