Wow, you know in context that is significantly different.

    That's unbelievable, then.

If he had just said dark uniforms and dark football I'd have been on board with it. As it is, I'm mostly fine with it, but now I'm looking at him sideways for that comment.

If he'd have been white but wore sleeves (dark sleeves obviously) to help conceal the mesh point, what's the difference?

It isn’t even necessarily what he said it’s that he felt the need to say it.

Are we going to reduce the amazing things Lamar has done this year to ‘its hard to see the ball against his skin’?

He might not be racist, in fact I doubt he is. But it’s definitely a racially motivated comment.

Besides being a total prick, he sure is bad at his job if that is what is considered to be passable game analysis. Providing valuable insight into football games might not be the gig for him.

That's exactly what I said. Just say the jersey is dark.

yeah this doesn't feel like an egregious comment, it just feels like a comment that a person in his position should be smart enough not say.

The question is if he gets there this season. I'm not sure he does at his current pace

On the topic of playoff changes in the NFL, any chance they go the NBA route and make divisions completely useless by having division winner not even guaranteed a playoff spot? Or at the very least, division winners just not guaranteed home field advantage in WC round.

If season ended today, Cowboys would be in and Rams/Bears who both have more wins would be out.

And the way things project out, Cowboys would obviously be hosting a team who will have more wins than them as well.

Same situation happened last year when Chargers were on the road in WC round when they had 3 more wins than the division winning Ravens.

In this scenario, Cowboys could finish with 7 or 8 wins while their WC opponent could have 10 or 11 wins.

Divisions will never be meaningless because of scheduling, but I've always been a supporter of you not earning a home game from it. Winning your division should just earn you a playoff spot, your success for the season relative to the rest of the conference would be what determines your seeding.

I think this and some form of playoff expansion are inevitable (or at the very least, this should be one of the things you can influence in owner mode in Madden! )

Of all the leagues, NFL currently has the best playoff format and even theirs needs fixing.

Division winners shouldn't be guaranteed home field at all.

Adding an extra playoff team, only top team with a BYE, best team gets home field, and reseeding (which would obviously be needed if only 1 team has a bye) are all things which should happen.

To reward a solid 9-7 team....and diminish the battle for the 2nd seed!!
