To be super honest I didn't really like him before, at all, and I'd agree with you then. But now he's our guy, so I'll defend him for now.

That particular article doesn't come off as that brash or over the top, to me. His former player made comments and Ryan defended himself.

I look at it like this - you came in, did good a couple years with jets, then it turned into a circus and your mouth wrote checks your team couldn't cash. If I played for him I'd worry if he's more worried with winning headlines than winning games.

They're one in the same, though. By winning, he's accomplishing his goal of shutting up Amaro and other critics.

I'm not a fan of the brash attitude, personally. I'm a quiet confidence type guy. But I'm not gonna sit here and act like he doesn't have me fired up for Bills football this season. The stakes and expectations are already going to be high with the team we've put together this offseason so he's not really bringing any extra pressure.

I happened to like him coming out and saying he's all in with the team after the unceremonious exit of Marrone. It's refreshing to not always get the same even keel, stay calm vibe every other coach has. Feels like he's one of the guys, an extension of the effort we hope to see every Sunday in Buffalo. Hopefully he coaches that way too and doesn't **** himself when faced with an aggressive/conservative dilemma.

But yeah, for not having won pretty much anything, he has a lot to say whether it's in defense of his team or coaching or as a challenge to others. I could see how someone with no SB wins or appearances getting so many headlines is annoying.

Gotta put up or shut up this season, Rex. We're counting on you!

Doubt there's been a single player that's had a bad thing to say about him and all want to play for him. Even as a fan I don't even see how you came to that perception. Even if you didn't know Ryan as a coordinator, he was talking as soon as he got the job in NYC. He made the defense look very similar to his Ravens D and took an offensively challenged team with a QB everyone called overrated to 2 AFCC games. Even if you don't like his "promises" he actually did a pretty good job backing them up with the Jets, the GM just never gave them an offense worth a damn to work with.

Generally speaking I think people go overboard with analyzing quotes of coaches and players anyway. Nobody has a crystal ball. If someone says "We're gonna win the division" or even go as far as "We're going undefeated" why would anyone take that as anything but being confident in the team's chances IF everything breaks right? Do you want your coach to say "I expect us to win 8 games" or something?

Loved his attitude with the Jets, and I still like it now. And I think it's waaaaay overblown that anything he says in press conferences effects what happens on the field.

He is entertaining though you can't help but tune him out more and more. He's like the dude at the Y in a pickup game talking mad trash after he's bricked a dozen straight jumpers.

He got a bit of a raw deal with the Jets but he hasn't had a winning season in four years.

I don't get "offended" by Rex Ryan. I applaud his outspoken nature, as I am the same way. I still maintain that any success he had as coach of the Jets those two years was due to favorable circumstances though, so I still think he's a ******* who talks a bit too much for no reason. Again, I should know.

Glad I'm finally on the other side of Rex being Rex. It wears thin after awhile.

Let's see if the Bills can backup his talk. The Jets certainly couldn't.

Half my posts on here have cussing in them so the thought of me being "offended" by Ryan bc of the language he uses is laughable.

I just wish Rex Ryan could find himself a quarterback and an offensive coordinator. He can coach the hell out of a defense, and I'd absolutely want him as part of a coaching staff in any capacity if I were putting one together and he was available.

It's stupid because the schedule has a specific rotation, which is actually ingenious. So the only real substance is times of games and home/away split.

I do get kinda excited about seeing if the Bills can finally get a prime time game that doesn't include the necessary TNF feature. But for fans of, well pretty much any other team, they don't have to worry about being featured.

For what it's worth, this is probably the year. Bills/Jets, probably. Those games are usually repulsive, so hopefully not.

Dates are pretty important as well.

I've known for months that the Broncos are coming to Pittsburgh this year but not the day.
