With the number of times they used the word momentum, it comes off more as a recruiting pitch than anything else.

I just realized... Giants traded JPP to TB for a 3rd round pick and a swap of 4th’s (NYG picks 2nd in the round, TB at 7th I believe).

Browns traded a 3rd rounder (1st in the round) for Tyrod Taylor a week or two ago.

JPP is a good defensive lineman for sure, but a QB whose thrown 50 TD/16 INT and led a depleted Bills team/offense to the playoffs is worth a similar same price tag in today’s NFL where decent QB’s don’t grow on trees?

Bills REALLY didn’t want Taylor around. It’s kind of baffling. We couldn’t have packaged him and those 1st rounders we have to go get in to the top 10 of the draft?

          NFL OT Rule Update

Under NFL rules, the team that kicks off to start overtime is guaranteed one possession if the receiving team kicks a field goal on the first drive. But most fans probably don’t know exactly what “one possession” means.

Consider this scenario: Team A receives the overtime kickoff, marches down the field and kicks a field goal. On its ensuing possession, Team B throws an interception. But the player on Team A fumbles the ball, and a player on Team B scoops it up and runs for a touchdown. Who wins the game?

Under current NFL rules, Team A would win the game because Team B’s possession ended the instant a player on Team A intercepted Team B’s pass. Anything after the interception — including the fumble and the recovery and the touchdown — wouldn’t count. But under a proposed rules change, Team B would win the game because the new rule would allow the play to continue under normal rules.

In the NFL’s description of the proposed rules changes, this was not explained very clearly. The NFL described the proposal as, “If there is a turnover, a team may win an overtime game, even though it scores on its second possession.” We heard from some readers who didn’t understand what that meant.

What it means is that common sense will apply, if this proposed rule is implemented. And it will mean defensive players need to know to go down if they intercept a pass to clinch a victory in overtime.

Cool that they’re proposing to change it before it becomes a problem that they’re forced to address, but what kind of dumb *** nonsense was this current rule? This league can’t help but to vomit words and just make everything an over complicated mess when it doesn’t have to be. Common sense should have made this proposed change unecessary.

So they change the rule just for overtime. In regular play it could be 3rd and 40, you throw a pick on a screen pass, they fumble, you recover and get a 1st and 10 no matter where the ball ends up. I actually think it makes more sense that the game ends on the interception, as that is the end of your possession.

Eagles defensive end Michael Bennett was indicted by a grand jury today in Houston on a felony charge of injury of the elderly, stemming from an incident at last year’s Super Bowl.

Bennett, who played for the Seahawks at the time and was attending the Patriots-Falcons Super Bowl as a spectator while his brother Martellus Bennett played for the Patriots, is accused of rushing the field after the game and pushing a 66-year-old paraplegic woman who was working at the stadium.

According to the indictment, Bennett was told he couldn’t access the field from the place where he was trying to gain entry, and instead of complying he pushed the woman aside, injuring her.

There is no word on the nature of the woman’s injuries, and there has been no explanation about why it took 13 months for charges to be brought.

It is unclear whether the Seahawks and Eagles knew about the incident when Bennett was traded from Seattle to Philadelphia last week.

The NFL could discipline Bennett under the league’s personal conduct policy, regardless of the outcome of the criminal case.

                      Yeah, wow.
The charge of injury to the elderly can be filed if a person intentionally or knowingly causes injury to a person 65 or older. It carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Harris County authorities say they’re talking with Bennett’s legal team about surrendering on the charge.

The Harris County district attorney’s office said the warrant was issued after a grand jury indicted Bennett on a felony count of injury to the elderly.

Impressive. I wonder who he'll blame for this incident.

'Mr. Bennett then went up to a 66-year-old black female employee of the NRG, paraplegic, and pushed her,' Acevedo continued. 'Mr. Bennett then continued to try to get onto the field.

'Bennett disregarded [one police officer], said "f*** you," and walked passed him on the field... "Y'all must know who I am. I could own this mother f*****... I'm going onto the field whether you like it or not."'

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Michael Bennett has been indicted on a felony charge of injury of the elderly, a 66-year-old paraplegic woman after watching Super Bowl LI in Houston.

so apparently a cop witnessed this(because it's the cops recollection of the events that they're going off of) but he didn't do anything about it at the time? And apparently there is a video of the incident(that the Houston police didn't review in this case)

I find it real funny that there is a video of the alledged incident, but the cops didn't bother to review any video evidence, instead going on the word of a cop who instead of arresting him on the spot when it happened, stood there and did nothing.

Yeah, forgive me for being skeptical of this one.

Because arresting him on the spot would have been a REAL good look. That would have gone over real well.

Yeah, because I'm sworn to protect and serve and I just saw some guy assault an elderly cripple, but instead of arresting him for assault I'm not going to do anything, and not only that I'm gonna let him tell me to **** off and let him go on his merry way.
