    Re: 2012 NFL Draft Thread.

I keep seeing Hightower's name come up, but there are questions if he can be a three down backer.

Other names I've seen seen for the Steelers are Fleener(TE), Glenn(OG), and possibly Poe. Lots of depth in this draft, good thing we have those four seventh round picks

He is tough, no doubt, but every hit lowers his career years. Osweiler is taller and about the same weight. For some reason I think he'd fit really well in the Steelers system (though we are supposedly going back to a running style offense.) Osweiler learning under Ben for 4 or 5 years and then passing him the torch would be cool.

I don't see it happening, and it probably even sounds weird to other Steelers fans. I just really like what I see in Osweiler with his size. I think given a few years (minimum of 4 imo), he could really develop nicely rather than starting this year or 2 years.

edit: Plus, the Steelers have like 4 QBs signed right now.
Ben does take a beating. Batch is one or two years away from retiring, Leftwich iscoming off a major injury, and Dixon is pretty much gone. This seems like the perfect draft to take a late round QB.

Hightower is just a perfect fit as a 3-4 thump linebacker who can take over Farrior's role.

I'm hoping the Broncos trade down and get 2 second rounders. I'd like Doug Martin and then some DT.

Unless Fletcher Cox or someone else slips down a lot, then take him.

Been hearing that Chandler Jones' draft stock has risen like crazy. Currently projected to go #14 to the Dallas Cowboys.

It's just been hard getting excited the past few years, seeing as how we know who the first couple are going to be. I think the last time I didn't know was 2006, there were literally 3 or 4 guys that could have gone #1.

Thursday and Friday is significantly better than wasting all day Saturday on it

Agreed. Moving the draft to prime time Thursday is one of the things I feel the NFL has gotten right.

                        Re: 2012 NFL Draft Thread.

The reason I'd prefer Matt Kalil in the first round is because of the talent outside of the first round. Alshon Jeffrey in the second round, Cliff Harris around the fourth or fifth round. Two players who have had "off-the-field" or "character" issues that are falling well outside of where they should be drafted that could fill those spots just as well.

Yeah. That, and spreading the draft out over a couple of days makes it easier to digest the entirety of it, and it doesn't kill the entire weekend.

Come on Miami, get an offensive weapon in the first round. No lineman!

How would you feel if the Dolphins drafted Ryan Tannehill (He has ties to Dolphins OC Mike Sherman)?
