Re: 2012 NFL Draft Thread.
Fair enough.
Tannehill was the 3rd highest ranked quarterback in the draft since February and after the combine and pro days, he's still ranked 3rd. So there has to be something about his skill set that most scouts like when they watch him throw.
Hopefully he turns out to be more of a Jay Cutler, Joe Flacco, Josh Freeman type in terms of success and not become a Brady Quinn, Marc Sanchez, Jimmy Clausen, or Blaine Gabbert type of player.Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Dallas Mavericks

Uh yes, look at the two teams. I dare say Tampa is in the NFCCG a couple years ago w/ the Jets defense. Neither QB has done anything to warrant their draft spots on a consistent basis. If anything I put more heat on Sanchez b/c he does have the better team.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Thread.
I understand the two teams don't have equal talent but QBs are judged by wins and losses. Sanchez does deserve more pressure but at the same time he has gone to 2 conference championships in 3 years. Is there another QB in the league that has done that in the past 5 seasons?Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Thread.
The one guy I have an inkling of "want this guy" for the Cowboys - and I realize that this isn't really a need pick at all - is David Wilson in round two. I think he's got the potential to be a stud.
The pick could be justified on the grounds that the Cowboys might intend to move on from Felix Jones after this year. Again, not an immediate need, though.Comment

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Thread.
Well as far as I know, he coached Joe Montana for a year, Steve Young for a year, Brett Favre for a few years, then turned Rich Gannon into an MVP, then turned Brad Johnson into one of the best QBs in the NFL over the 2nd half of the season/playoffs, so he's coached his fair share of star QBs and also developed some marginal starters into top-notch QBs.
I'll give him Gannon since had been bouncing around the league then but other than that, he's done nothing with QBs LOL.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Thread.
Show me another team as loaded as the Jets were. I can also point to times where he had very winnable minutes and choked/screwed up both times. No one looks at Sanchez and judges him by his win/loss record. No one. If his own team viewed him that highly, I doubt they trade for The Tim Tebow.
2009 Season
2010 Season
No one picked them to get that far those 2 years, remember 2009 they backed their way into the playoffs. Rex Ryan thought it was over week 15. They had a top 10 Defense yes but so did the Ravens but they didn't make it to the Conference Championship.Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Thread.
As for I'm hoping the Packers take at 28:
1. DE/OLB Nick Perry(could possibly trade down and get him in the early 2nd)
2. S Mark Barron(highly unlikely he's there)
3. Dre Kirkpatrick(same for him)#RespectTheCultureComment

I just don't want us to draft for need but so much. Just grab the best players we can, that's all.Comment

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Thread.
I think I'm getting off course a little bit. I thought we were debating the fact that any QB can do what Sanchez did. I know Tampa doesn't have anywhere near a top 10 D. Bottom line I think Sanchez gets discredited by having a great Defense, but as we have seen that doesn't assure success. The Ravens have had a top 10 defense since 2003 yet have only been to 2 conference championships. As far as the rushing stats go all we hear is that rushing doesn't matter. Green Bay, New Orleans, & New England got to a superbowl without a dominant running game. Better yet when is the last time the #1 rated rushing team made the super bowl?
In other news John Clayton keeps suggesting Tampa is discussing trading up to #3 to get Richardson. I hope he is blowing smoke, I like the idea of Blount with a David Wilson or LaMichael James.Last edited by Vaporub83; 04-26-2012, 11:13 AM.Tampa Bay Buccaneers
