Why no pass interference when ball is tipped ?
Sorry for the noob question... but somebody could please explain me why pass interferences are not charged when the ball was previously tipped by another defensive player ? What's the exact rule behind that ?

That's perfectly legal. The defender just can't hit the receiver when the ball is in the air.Red Sox|Patriots|Celtics|UConn -
Re: Why no pass interference when ball is tipped ?
The reason is that tipping the ball changes the timing on the pass completely. If a defender has timed his hit for a normal pass from the QB and then the ball is tipped and somehow still makes it to the WR, the defender can't stop and wait for the ball.Comment
