So you don't think Rodgers wouldn't take votes from Manning?

No, I think if you vote for a QB it goes to Manning. If you are unsure enough to vote for another QB then it helps Manning, hurts Peterson by splitting the vote further.

Half expecting Manning to only get like 6 MVP votes or something with all the press Peterson is getting. Good thing for AP the MVP votes were submitted before tonight's game.

I'd be a bit shocked if Rodgers didn't get any MVP votes considering he really did nothing to lose it in the first place.

          I'm sorry but I don't quite follow.

If someone is unsure about voting for a QB, wouldn't that drive their votes to AP hurting Manning's chances?

Peterson should be MVP. His comeback year is not only impressive but makes a much better story than anyone else. The man is a beast

Only one other person in the history of the NFL has done what Peterson did this year. The same cannot be said for anyone else.

Zero people in the history of the NFL did what Calvin Johnson did this year.

                  Maybe he's the MVP.

Going by the literal defintion of player most valuable to a team,Andrew Luck.
Going by what they actually hand it out for,Aaron Rodgers or AP.

I'm surprised they actually gave it to AD. Not only that but that they also gave him OPOY on top of that.

Personally I think they made the right choice.

I agree, but could you really justify giving the OPOY award to someone else (Calvin Johnson even) this year no matter what? I could see the case of giving Manning MVP and AP OPOY but considering a big part of why AP was MVP, I don't see how OPOY could've gone to another person.

Kind of off topic but times like this is what really upsets me about today's information age. We knew who won all the awards long before the show announcing them came on. It would've been nice if the show was live, but if it can't be this is one time there should be some kind of gentleman's rule to not race to be first. It reminds me of when they show players on the phone before they're announced at the draft.

What else is there to discuss? The result doesn't change how anyone here feels.

Or were you looking for everyone to come in the thread and praise Peterson?

                              That pissed me off.

I was a little later to the show, turned it on about 9:20.. I jumped on ESPN.com at the same time and what do you know, "Peterson Edges Manning for MVP".

I ended up just watching it to see what they deemed the Top 10 Plays of the Year because of that.

No I was thinking someone would come in and list the award winners. Sorry I thought that a Sports site would do that.
