No running back was taken in the first round for the first time since the 1963 draft.

I want me a running back tomorrow, Theodore.

Preferably Lattimore in round 3. I'm willing to take that chance.

Am I wrong in thinking Geno Smith isn't exactly handling this well?

Probably because everyone is making this a bigger deal than what it is. I could understand if this was the 2nd day of the Draft and he was still there but...it's only been 1 round so far.

Classic case of making a Mountain out of a Molehill and I'd say the same thing about Manti Te'o not getting drafted yet either.

The only teams that left me scratching my head today was Dallas and Cincinnati.

The only thing is that teams(not all of them I'm aware)do value their picks in the following draft more and aren't willing to trade them so easily.
Your stars (irreplaceable players) were all 1st/2nd round picks. Rodgers, Raji, Matthews, AJ Hawk (for awhile), Jordy Nelson.

Bill Barnwell wrote about this earlier in the week:

"I think it's clear the league as a whole can do a decent job of sifting through the draft pool and separating guys into relative tiers; in other words, that they can differentiate between a guy worthy of a first-round pick, one better suited for the fourth round, and a future undrafted free agent who isn't worth the time. There will always be exceptions, but as Kevin Meers's research on the NFL draft shows, the average value produced by a player from a given round drops with each passing set of selections."

It made alot more sense before the rookie wage scale to trade back because rookie salaries were out of hand and if you missed, it really set your team back. Now that salaries are under control, It makes much less sense to trade a solid dollar for 3 quarters, 2 dimes and a nickel.

EDIT: Then there's also this: The Patriots starting QB is 36 years old, their coach is damn near 70. How many years are they going to keep rolling these draft picks? What future are they building towards? There's no Andrew Luck waiting in the wings when it's time to move on from Brady.

With the 18th pick in the draft the San Francisco 49ers select Eric Reid,LSU.

A little bit. He's 22 years old, it's the biggest day of his life, he invited all of his family, he's on national TV, and he's really disapointed. Aaron Rodgers and Brady Quinn were pre-Twitter era. Different world now.

Now whether or not he should have been there in the 1st place... yeah. He got some bad advice because we all saw this coming.
