If Tim Tebow gets a chance then this guy should get another shot. I mean he was on a shaky Raiders team, I always bring this up how good would Eli of been if he wasn't on the Giants?

Probably still pretty good. His dad played in the NFL. Oh, and his brother is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time. Eli was raised to play quarterback.Boston Red Sox

In my opinion that guy SHOULD get a roster spot. Huge arm. He's determined to rewrite his NFL career. I give props to him.Comment

It's no different then if you got fired for doing no work at a job then went to go find another job because well you need one.
People have this sense that being is professional athlete is a hobby and they should have honor, etc. They are just like us except get paid moreSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Jamarcus Russell attempting a comeback
I really hope he gets another shot. I wouldn't mind seeing the Cowboys bring him in for a try-out. Would be a low risk move at this point. At the very least, he should be better than our current crop of QBs behind Romo and Orton at getting the ball to receivers late in preseason games. If he proves himself, we've got a 28 year-old 3rd string QB with a monster arm and a chip on his shoulder, if not - we cut him.
Although really, I think he could potentially compete for a starting job on a number of teams.Comment

Re: Jamarcus Russell attempting a comeback
I think he'll go to training camp with somebody and I think he's got a shot at making a team and maybe hanging around the league for a bit as a backup player.
As far as him being able to effectively play QB in the NFL I really doubt it. He had major bust potential coming out of LSU and now he's lost years of his development. He still has to learn how to play QB in the NFL. And while I'm happy he's lost the weight and gotten himself into shape, the work ethic required to be at a healthy weight and the work ethic required to play QB in the NFL are two totally different things, and he still has to prove he has the latter.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Jamarcus Russell attempting a comeback
Oakland has an astounding $49.6 million in dead money on its cap this season for players no longer on the roster.
******** organization, them and Russell deserve one another.
What a joke both of them are.Comment
