Re: 2013 Transactions Thread
1. Hope he gets his ring... he was very important to the Ravens if only for the last game.
2. Just got very interesting for Mr. Vick.
3. I always liked this kid and he's got history with Kelly and that offense. I have no idea how he fell so far off but he was never going to get a real shot in Baltimore or Pitt. I'm curious how good he can really be. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.Comment

Re: 2013 Transactions Thread
That ACL injury really hurt him. Then you look at RGIII, Wilson and Kap. Dixon was about 5 years too soon to the NFL scene.Moderator

Re: 2013 Transactions Thread
Dennis Dixon will become the next Tebow as far as coverage/hype goes, especially if he beats out Foles and Vick for the starting QB job.
Calling it right now.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2013 Transactions Thread
No chance in hell. Tebow was a household name to people who didn't even follow college football before he was drafted. I can see him getting a bit of Linsanity if he ends up starting and does well (getting overhyped off a couple of good starts) but if he falls off so will the coverage... if he doesn't, then he deserves it right?
And only since you said "especially if" if he ends up as the backup he won't be mentioned at all until/unless the QB in front of him starts getting talk of being benched.Comment

Re: 2013 Transactions Thread
I'll always remember that game against the Ravens that Dixon came into and played great until he threw that pick in overtime. I'll be rooting for him, but don't expect a lot out of him, he's a project at best, like someone said he couldn't even beat out Leftwich and Batch this past year.
Harrison is probably out of Pittsburgh since he won't take a pay cut, Steelers can't afford his contract compared to how he's playing.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers

I don't mean EXACT hype/24-7 Coverage like with Tebow(which alone separated himself from a lot of QBs)
But the fact that:
A. Chip Kelly is the Coach
B. He had his best years playing for Chip Kelly
C. He'll be playing in Philadelphia after bouncing around the league and almost being out of the league because of injuries
IF he wins the job and plays well for more than 3 weeks(which is all that joke Linsanity was)and does it for a month or more AND they win, I'd be shocked if he didn't receive a lot of attention. Stuff like this the Media gobbles up.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2013 Transactions Thread
I agree but I think the buzz word I still can't sign on to is "Tebow". Playing well never had anything to do with his hype. Whether he did or didn't, he was getting it. If Dixon doesn't play well he'll be forgotten faster than... well, Jeremy Lin, lol.Perhaps I worded my post differently.

I agree with this. Also, if he does win the starting job, don't you think he'd deserve some attention? I'm pretty sure everyone thought his career was pretty much over or had heavy odds against him that night against Arizona in 07.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Re: 2013 Transactions Thread
You're focusing too much on the "Tebow" part and missing what I'm saying though, lol.
I don't like the Jeremy Lin comparison because people(at least I did)knew that wasn't going to last and wasn't surprised when it's 3 weeks of fame ran it's course.
He would. I'm not saying he wouldn't deserve but there's also a difference between getting attention and getting TOO MUCH attention and if there's one thing Sports Fans in America hate, it's someone getting TOO MUCH attention. Also, if he does win the starting job, don't you think he'd deserve some attention?#RespectTheCultureComment

Id be surprised if Dixon took a snap next year. I see Foles and Vick beating him out.Comment

Re: 2013 Transactions Thread
Dude that hit was so bad. I can see knees getting blown out (Peterson, McGahee, dude from South Caroline) and while you're like, DAMN!!!, it doesn't make me feel physically ill. This one though, oh man, I was thinking holy crap he's dead. Backs can't bend like that. Sad to see a solid football player have to hang it up early. At least he's not crippled.Comment
