What happened to the Obstruction of justice? It's minuscule in the perspective of what he is facing, but it seems like it would be pretty easy to convict him of that.

Wow what a loser. All he had to do was catch footballs, and he would have been set for life.

Maybe Hernandez and his boys watched Pineapple Express after putting them Black & Mild's to use and thought smashing his cell phone would make all their troubles go away.

I don't know why, but I can't stop reading the replies to that.

This one is my favorite, I just love that something so innocent is mixed in among all the murder talk.

Yes the camera was turned off but the camera already caught him with a gun in his hand. To charge that you need to prove that something was contained in that 6 hour lapse.

I will say they should have charge it because to me it is relevant information as to what the 3 did while the camera was off. Did the wash blood of their clothes. This they destroy any other evidence. Ect.

Nfl network has much better coverage if anyone is tired of watching espn's terrible coverage.

That was one thing that I was also wondering.

Just to add to FF's point of Big Brother. For us there is only two ways to obtain a cell phone ping:

                  1) Exigent Circumstances. Such as missing person

                  2) Subpoena with a sworn statement for reason of need. Which was probably used in this case. Murder would have been mention and sworn upon by Detective and the records of cell tower pings would be released.

The attorney on NFL Network right now has basically said it's irrelevant in this case. They don't care about the obstruction when the big fish (murder) is on the line.

I posted the reason a few post back. I believe they should have still charged him but you have to show relevance that the 6 hours of missing CCTV footage was needed to investigate the murder.

I think you could make the case they could have been washing clothes with blood or destroying more evidence, ect. But they have all the evidence and know better about what they have. All the evidence is not given during an arraignment so there is probably more.

I have to say I didn't expect it to be a murder charge but maybe we should've known with just how long the investigation was going. This is just going on first blush but I applaud the cops for taking their time. Obviously they wanted to go with the big ticket charge and I don't think anyone can claim they're just doing it because Hernandez is a football star because they actually took their time with this.

It'll be interesting to see how this goes down the road but Hernandez is in a whole lotta trouble these days.

they probably will add it on before the trial starts

The evidence sounds pretty damning based on what was presented today in court. If it holds up its hard to imagine a scenario where Hernandez wasn't involved in some way.
