Re: Week 1: Seattle Seahawks @ Carolina Panthers

I can see why this might be a closer game than what most expect, as Seattle has historically been a poor road team and it's a West coast team traveling to the opposite coast for an early game.

I still think the Seahawks will pull it out though, in general Defenses start the season a bit ahead of Offenses (although that trend is starting to buck the past few seasons) and Seattle is shaping to have one of the best Defenses in the League. Carolina's front 7 is shaping up to be really strong so it should be tough to run on them but if any team can I think Seattle with Marshawn, and a new comer to watch Christine Michael should be a good one..two combo that can gain yardage of them.

Maybe you meant by more than 10 points or something? They do lose a lot of close games. Especially when they've led in the 4th quarter.
Yea, I meant to say by over TD. I was distracted.

I actually doubt that will happen. Cam only threw 2 INTs through the last 7 games last year, and he broke the Panthers record for completions without a pick. He only had 1 3 INT game last year, and most of the games he's struggled in has been with a high powered offense on the other side. I think it causes him to press more. No offense to Seattle, but they're not Green Bay yet on offense. Plus I think Carolina's defense will be lights out all year, and keep the pressure off Cam.

Seattle averaged 25 points a game last year which included scoring at least 40 in three of their final four games. They also haven't scored less than 20 in a game since week 7 of last year.

The Packers averaged 27 points a game.

Not sure they are all that different.

I am very curious to see if the offense from the second half of last season will carry over to this year. Russell Wilson was a machine the second half of the year. Starting a bit slow in the preseason this time around, so I'm a tad bit concerned that he'll have another slow start to the year just like last season.

I'm excited too see how Kuechly and Wagner do against read options. Both are fast with great instincts. Could decide the game.

I agree on the Panthers D,mentioned it in the prediction topic but the Seahawks are better or were at least. I assume they stopped taking those PEDs.

Can't say enough about Luke. If the game comes down to his play we are winners for sure.

I'm going with the 'upset' and Carolina. Strange things happen in week 1.

Absolutely could happen. Travel to the East coast, early game, Seahawks may be without some real key personnel (Clemons, Browner, Avril, Michael Bennett, Harvin, Bruce Irvin, etc), and it's week 1.

Browner getting hurt is pretty disappointing. Walter Thurmond is gonna have to step up big time.

Lucky for him he only has to cover Brandon LaFell, who isn't an imposing WR by any definition.

I want to believe Carolina wins, but I just can't
