Re: Super Bowl 50: Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers Game Discussion Thread
What's being glossed over with all this Cam talk is how pathetic the rest of the offense and special teams performed and how great Denver's D played to make Carolina look so inept.
Also, can we talk about how ****ing Papa John was the first person Peyton celebrated the win with once the game was over and his obvious shilling for his Budweiser' stocks?"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

According to what I am seeing on social media, those who were saying this isn't Manning's last game may be right.
One Denver guy thinks Elway gets Manning to take a substantial pay cut, lets Brock walk and keeps the defense intact, and drafts "someone like Kevin Hogan" instead of giving Brock the big payday.
My first reaction to this theory is "man did you see our offense all year?" but the bottom line is, with the 3 and outs and all, we still won the SB, so I guess we just need a guy who isn't gonna throw 4 picks a game.NFL: Bills

Just saw the video of Chris Harris talking at his press conference at the same time as Cam's, and without a doubt I would've left too. Hearing another player gloat about their great gameplan while reporters ask me if I'm disappointed over and over again after I just lost the biggest game of my life? ****. That.Comment

Funny thing is, active players can't endorse alcohol so, if it wasn't obvious before, Manning told on himself.NFL - Vikings

THEN when Cam did get time to throw his WR's dropped every momentum swinging pass that hit them right in the hands. Did Cotchery even catch a pass? I know he dropped 3 HUGE plays.

Probably not relevant but I didn't get to respond to the criticism of my 09 Jets comparison in the other thread as I was out of the country, but arobee's response took the words out of my mouth:
I don't think the 09 Jets comparison is all that crazy. The margin of error on offense at the QB position is similar. Broncos, like the 09 Jets can't afford to have their QB turn the ball over.
Denver was a nightmare last night. Took me 2.5 hours to get to my apartment from the airport which usually takes maybe 30 mins. Every road downtown blocked, cops tear gassing people. **** was crazy.
Congrats to Broncos fans though.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

That's weird. I drove through downtown on my way home after the game and it was pretty subdued. Must've been a different part of town.Comment

I get it too. Carolina's offensive game plan was an abomination. They left their OT's out to dry all night long. Who in their right mind leaves Remmers one on one with Von Miller? How was there not a TE back to block? Or have Stewart help?

I hope Talib is fined and suspended for this. He should've been thrown out of the ****ing game when it happened.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — There was no one more ecstatic in the post-Super Bowl 50 press conference room than the always entertaining and sometimes volatile Aqib Talib. The Broncos cornerback marched up to his podium with his three children and let out an enthused, “Yoooooo” after Denver beat the Carolina Panthers 24-10 for his first championship ring. […]Comment
