Re: Week 2: Dallas Cowboys (1-0) @ Denver Broncos (1-0)
I am shocked as anyone.
I figured Zeke would run for over 150+ yards and just expose us. I believed in that so much, that I started Zeke in my fantasy football league. I couldn't be much happier knowing i lost that fantasy game, and my Broncos won.NFL - Denver Broncos
NCAAF - Boise State Broncos
Champions Indoor Football - Sioux City Bandits 9-2
MLB - Toronto Blue Jays 56-45
NHL - Colorado Avalanche 2022 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS
United States Hockey League - Sioux City Musketeers
2022 Clark Cup ChampionsComment

Re: Week 2: Dallas Cowboys (1-0) @ Denver Broncos (1-0)
Different era and all but still pretty impressive:
Trevor Siemian's 24 career passing touchdowns are the third most by a Bronco through his first 16 starts, trailing only Peyton Manning (37) and Frank Tripucka (27)
It's early, I know. Overreactions are easy to make, I know. I was all on the Paxton train this offseason. But this game has me coming around a bit.Comment

Re: Week 2: Dallas Cowboys (1-0) @ Denver Broncos (1-0)
The Cowboys haven't been punched in the mouth like they were Sunday since Dak and Zeke took the reins. Eye-opening.
I think the thing I'm most concerned about is Dez Bryant. He's struggled a bit the past two games. Teams are playing extremely physical against him right now, and if he can't get separation, the Cowboys offense doesn't really have another consistent vertical threat on the perimeter (Brice Butler would be the best option, but he's far from reliable). Dallas needs that to open things up for Witten and Beasley underneath.
Maybe he'll turn it around next week and go back to being Dez going forward, but the early results so far this season aren't promising.Comment

He is still elite in the red zone, but more Anquan Boldin type player instead of FitzComment

Re: Week 2: Dallas Cowboys (1-0) @ Denver Broncos (1-0)
According to multiple media guys the feeling around the league is that Dez is not the same player he was. He is still a good WR but no longer considered as one of the top guys. His inability to create separation is one of the major reasons why.

Re: Week 2: Dallas Cowboys (1-0) @ Denver Broncos (1-0)
No, just something I saw multiple TV personalities on twitter say.
I'll see if I can dig one of them up though
(Disclaimer: The Boldin comparison and inability to create separation are my own thoughts though, I should have made that clear, sorry. But if people in the league aren't as high on Dez I think separation is a reasonable assumption as to why)
Edit: Okay so each of these on their own offers very little, but taken together should backup my post.
While he might not be the game-breaker he once was, Dez Bryant still commands the respect of opposing defenses.
Some receivers are opponent-proof, but some are more subject to the relative strength of their opponent than you'd expect. Scott Barrett highlights one of the big ones.
^Presumably that tweet was in response to the same things I was reading, but I cannot remember who it came from. You know the sidebar on espn.com that shows recent tweets? It was definitely one of them.
Sorry couldn't find an exact link. Over the past couple of months I've seen multiple off hand comments along the lines of this though.Last edited by ggsimmonds; 09-20-2017, 06:09 AM.Comment

Wasn't questioning you. Have just been arguing with a Cowboys friend and was too lazy to look anything up on my own.
