Re: Week 17 Discussion Thread
Go ask a Steeler fan to list their 3 biggest rivals. Pretty sure they will say Ravens, Bengals, and Patriots in no particular order. Doubt too many will say Browns are public enemy number one.
Edit: hey I’m not saying it’s over dramatic because it’s not exciting week 17 football. It absolutely is. I loved it. It’s over dramatic because the Steelers don’t hate the Browns that much. No one does, it’s the Browns lol.Last edited by ggsimmonds; 12-31-2018, 03:09 PM.Comment

Re: Week 17 Discussion Thread
The mood in this town after they tied the Browns in week one was the worst I'd ever seen it.
They pretty much could care less about the Bengals.Comment

From what I can tell, the Steelers (I guess the fans mostly) don't really care much about Cincinnati.Boston Red Sox

Re: Week 17 Discussion Thread
I figured the mood was bad after that game because that game is one you expect to win. I don’t circle or make note of when Baltimore plays Cleveland, but when we lose to them it definitely stings more than other teamsLast edited by ggsimmonds; 12-31-2018, 03:21 PM.Comment

Lol tell me what is so unthinkable or far fetched about it?

Re: Week 17 Discussion Thread
Think it was earlier this year or maybe last when they made a story out of the difference in the feel of the two different games. Baltimore being good, clean, football and Cincy being brutal and ugly like there is genuine bad blood.
Maybe have the Steelers rooting for the Bengals instead of the Browns. Local reporters wearing Burfict jerseys...now that'd be near unthinkable lolComment

Week 17 Discussion Thread
Geography favors PIT/CIN and PIT/CLE over PIT/BAL. The competitiveness of both teams for so long has made that rivalry into a rivalry. Now that Cincy has been pretty good for years (plus having a reputation of giving troubled players chances) has increased the bad blood in Bengals/Steelers games. But if Cleveland puts together a consistently good team, CLE/PIT could really heat up.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

If we are talking about right now, I’m not buying that the Browns are one of Pittsburgh’s main rivals.
I expect that to change in the coming years thoughComment

Re: Week 17 Discussion Thread
Historically, it has been the Browns. Recently, it has been the Ravens. But the Bengals are on the prowl.
There is a link from the local paper discussing the matter
Yeah they dislike the Browns because they are a division rival. But it’s not the same level of animosity that exists with larger rivalries.
You know what this is? It’s a case of y’all disagreeing with my original post and now disagreeing with everything I say on the matter because that’s how the internet works. Browns bigger rivals than the Bengals...lolLast edited by ggsimmonds; 01-02-2019, 03:14 AM.Comment
