    CFL Discussion Thread

I didnt really see a thread for the CFL so if I missed it, let me know

"The CFL's Edmonton Eskimos will announce Edmonton Elks as their new name and adopt this logo, making things official in about 15 minutes -- this is according to these leaked images found by @GlobalJesus
who spotted them on the team's official app."

Is the CFL going to actually play a season in 2021?

      Big news for the CFL

Hopefully some US fans do get on board with it. I never get how people got so invested into the AAF, XFL and all that when those leagues either fizzled out or just has an unknown future.

Not that I think the CFL should expand into the US again, but would be nice if people at least gave it a chance. It's different rules than the NFL, but people generally feel like CFL rules lead to more exciting football.

I felt like the XFL was a fun alternative though, it would have lasted that full season had it not debuted during the pandemic. The AAF on the other hand was literally 2 weeks away from having it's season completed when the owners said nah and pulled the plug.

I've tried to watch when I can. I don't like the wide dimensions of the field, the weird forward motion that's allowed or the goal posts being on the goal line.

It's like they missed a couple big steps in the transition between rugby and football.

The forward motion and the wide dimensions are a turnoff. I want to love the CFL like I do all football but those two issues make it feel like I’m watching gimmick football.

For me it's the 3 downs which results most often in the play that I hate, the punt. It is what it is and I still watch CFL every chance I get.
