I hope and pray that Trey Lance is good, because I really don't want to hear some kind of victim narrative down the road with this situation.

I think he still gets traded. The NTC gives him some control where he goes.

True I suppose he could still waive it for the right team but that sounds like a perfect storm having to play out and that's a long shot.

The assumption seems to be that Jimmy is the backup QB, but I'm wondering if it won't just be a continuation of the preseason where Jimmy is on the team in name only.

He wasn't at any of the preseason games, doesn't practice with the team and hasn't been in any team meetings. He's just at the facility working out and throwing on his own.

If the 49ers are OK playing essentially a man short for awhile, they could continue that while they wait for a trade opportunity. The Niners get something for Jimmy, Lance isn't looking over his shoulder and Jimmy is still getting paid something rather than being released.

If Sudfield is on the initial 53 tomorrow, I won't be surprised if that's the route they're going.

Jimmy G at $12M or something close is probably more appealing than at $24M for a team that needs a QB.

Panthers might say **** it, trade for him, and have him and Baker trade off quarters every game

Based on what Kyle has said he will be active and he already said Jimmy will be the backup against Chicago. He also talked to Lance about it ahead of time and he was fine with it also. As for meetings, he wasn't banned from attending he chose not too under the assumption he was on his way out. All signs point to him being active every Sunday in a backup role if you're to believe what Kyle has said publicly.

Yeah, Kyle seemed legitimately happy to have Jimmy back in the fold. Going to be interesting to see if they can make it work again, but with roles reversed.

"Trade: Eagles are sending WR Jalen Reagor to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a 2023 7th-round pick and a 2024 conditional 4th-round pick that would deescalate to a 5th-round pick if certain statistical marks are not met, sources tell ESPN."

He needed a fresh start and likely only a punt returner if he stayed with the team.

                    That is such weird phrasing.

That’s a pretty good haul for a guy who’s done nothing.

I thought Reagor could rebound and become a decent WR, but last year I saw nothing but the same crap. Getting two picks back is more then I thought they’d get for him (nothing — release).

I agree. A future 4th is the best I thought they could get for him. He would've been a 5th WR/PR who needed manufactured targets in Philly, so a fresh start was needed.

That almost even out the value used to trade for CGJ yesterday, so I like both moves together

Looks like the Bears picked up Leatherwood on waivers, so they'd take his 1st rounder contract

That's when you can tell that they got their info from the Eagles lol. Instead of saying it's a 5th that can become a 4th if he reaches certain statistical marks, they say its a 4th that can deescalate to a 5th. It's makes it seem like they got more if it's a conditional 4th than a 5th

Pretty good deal for Denver for the next 2 years, being an extension.

He's only counts $39mil against the cap for 2022 and 2023. 12th among QBs this year, 13th next year.

Good window to go for it.
