Buffalo will be missing both starting corners (will start two rookies), one part of the best safety duo in the NFL (Hyde), and a few defensive tackles. Not a great recipe going in to a game against a team that just put up 42 points with two speed demons WR who both just went for almost 200 yards apiece. McDermott and Frazier pull a lot of defensive strings so I can see us competing, but it’s going to be an uphill battle. We need the pass rush to get there and get there fast.
The big matchup will be Miami’s defense versus Buffalo’s vaunted offense. If they get a few stops, and our defense is overmatched, it could be a big win for Miami.
Dolphins believe right now and beating Buffalo would make them that one or two team a year who starts hot with wins against good teams. Division still goes through Buffalo when it’s all said and done if you ask me, but a loss to Miami would be a tough concession. Don’t want a team on the rise to get any taste of blood. This will be a serious measuring stick game for both. Can we keep them down shorthanded? Can they beat us for the first time in 4 years? Questions will be answered.
