Re: Week 17 Discussion Thread
Yeah, a lot of bad teams, but also a lot of key injuries on those teams. There's still a chance Giants get the #3 pick. Not sure of the tie breakers between Tenn and NY, so good chance they get their preferred QB..
For NE, both them and Bills have nothing to play for. If NE gets the #1, I can see them trying to trade it. They don't need a QB, no #1 type of OT or DE available. Not sure I would draft Hunter #1 if I was NE.Comment

Re: Week 17 Discussion Thread
It's even worse than having nothing to play for. Both Buffalo and New England would actively benefit from losing this game. Either securing the #1 pick or keeping it away from a division rival. We will have to swap uniforms and defend each other's endzones.Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment

Re: Week 17 Discussion Thread
But, I get it though. No coach or player wants to tank. No one's job is safe on a tanking team.
As far as potential HC openings, its weird with so many bad teams. Obvious opennings like NO, Jets and Chi. Browns are in a weird position with Watson's contract. I would compare the Antonio Pierce similar to the previous Houston HCs where there was obviously a short leash to begin with. I think Pederson gets fired from Jax. Not sure about guys like Daboll and McCarthy. I think Mayo might be safeComment

So Tom Brady is human after all.
Anyone looking for the answer, it's the Vikings, the very game Brady's calling this week.Comment

Re: Week 17 Discussion Thread
I know Stone Cold Dan Campbell won't even consider the idea, but it's madness if the Lions don't rest a bunch of their starters tomorrow. They could essentially have 2 byes in a 3 week span if they do the smart thing (and beat the Vikings next Sunday), and nobody could use the time to heal more than Detroit.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: Week 17 Discussion Thread
Not only will the Packers finish 12-5 as a 6th (or 7th!) seed, but it's likely that all of their defeats will come at the hands of teams with 14+ wins (assuming Philly wins next week and the Lions win one of their last 2), and 4 of those 5 were one-score margins. The AFC has the 4 best QB in the league, but top to bottom the NFC bracket is a meatgrinder.Last edited by DrJones; 12-31-2024, 02:20 AM.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that.
