Re: AFC/NFC Wild Card Weekend Games Discussion Thread
Another first round flameout by a MIN team that won a ton of regular season games. Darnold was a great redemption story but this was the best he’ll ever be, and he still had plenty of brain farts. I’d not hesitate to move on to McCarthy.
Rams continue to be a testing ground for the NFC. I know Eagles fans are confident in their ability to beat LA but I’m not counting out a McVay/Stafford team. Not sure how many other QB/coach combos would be getting this team to the playoffs the last few years. Eagles should overwhelm them but it could easily not go that way and come down to situational moments.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

I still like Philly. Philly's OL is worlds better than Vikings, they're not giving up 9 sacks. But, Hurts does tend to struggle against Pressure. Which is why Ii wanted to avoid TB and Minn. The problem with them struggling against pressure is because they're overly trusting in their OL. They have long developing routes because they feel they can trust their OL to win their matchups. I feel the Pittsburgh gameplan was their best. Hurts is at his best when he doesn't have to sit and think. When he holds onto the ball, it usually doesn't end well. Eagles gameplan should be to get the ball out fast, establish run early, and protect the ball on offense. Rams aren't going to allow Saquon to put 255 yards on them again. So Hurts has to play betterComment

Still concerned if the Eagles get down by 10 points, if Hurts can throw them back in to a game. They control the game with defense and rushing, but if they get off to a slow start it could spell trouble for Philly to have to morph in to a passing team that isn’t going against fully loaded boxes. It’s a passing offense that still hasn’t clicked completely — I almost wonder if being forced in to it could open things up and answer some questions.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: AFC/NFC Wild Card Weekend Games Discussion Thread
Philly is built to play with a lead. So, yes a slow start couid hurt them. Philly doesn't do a good of in game adjustments. The only thing is Hurts does a good job of checking against loaded boxes. Teams don't really go press man against Philly. Hurts will instantly check into a go ball. With how elite AJ Brown is on slants, Philly doesn't really call slants often. They need to do a better job of manufacturing easy non-screen touches for their top 3 targets. Their top 3 Targets are all good RAC guys.
Yup. For how good this Eagles team is, it still feels like they aren’t firing on all cylinders. It worries me they may get put in an unfamiliar position and implode between play-calling, clock management and on-field execution. The type of stuff only experience in adversity can sift out. Sirianni & his staff got a heck of a week ahead of them game planning against McVay and his guys.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Personally, this will be a tough match up for Philly. I don't think Stafford is going to make the same mistakes Love was making.
However, interested to see how the LA interior holds up against the Philly DL.Comment

Re: AFC/NFC Wild Card Weekend Games Discussion Thread
But like you said, how they handle Philly's DL could decide the game. Milton Williams has played himself to a good deal, Jordan Davis stuffs the run, Nolan Smith is turning the corner. But the one they need to gameplan against is Jalen Carter. He's not putting crazy stats, but he didn't make an All Pro team for nothing. He's a game wrecker from the interior, played on the edge last game. Best way to go after a pocket QB is up the middle and get him off his spot.Comment
