Re: 2014 OS "Who To Start" Thread
The Skins secondary is very weak. Injuries and youth. If they stay in man and blitz for pressure, they can create some turnovers. If they sit in zone like they did last week, it could be a shoot out. It's a good gamble bc they are at home and coming off a bye week against a bad offense.Comment

If Browns are available in your league they are a must start this weekComment

Sideways move. I would've held onto the Steelers, but if I had the Skins I wouldn't drop them for PIT either.

Re: 2014 OS "Who To Start" Thread
Okay for Week 13 (because my league is very active):
Bengals (@ Tampa Bay)
OR
Rams (vs Oakland)
_____________ BELOW THIS LINE IS FOR WEEK 12_____________________
Packers (@ Minnesota)
Is this a good pick up?
I already have these defenses for week 12 as well:
Chiefs (@ Oakland)
AND
Eagles (vs Titans)
Thanks for the help guysLast edited by whoahello; 11-18-2014, 12:57 AM.Comment

Re: 2014 OS "Who To Start" Thread
Ok, here's one for you guys.
In one of my leagues, LeVeon Bell is my usual starter (1 RB/2 WR/1 flex), but he's got a bye and my other options are very limited; Vereen's value has dropped considerably with the rise of Jonas Gray, and Sproles rarely even warrants a flex. My other options have completely fallen through.
Should I roll with Vereen and hope he's used more in the passing game against Detroit, or pick up a guy like Tre Mason off waivers who I know is gonna get the touches? It'd be for one week, and not that it matters a whole lot, but transactions in this league cost $5.
Mason, West, Blue, Sims, and Joique Bell are the top guys available. Mason is the only guy in the bunch who I feel can be counted on to get significant touches, though what he does with them is another story.
Is there enough gain to pick someone up for the week, or should I pin my hopes on Vereen, or even Sproles in a good matchup?
FYI, Peyton Manning, Demaryius Thomas, Alshon Jeffrey, Jordan Matthews, and Coby Fleener will be rounding out the rest of my skill positions this week.Comment

I personally don't think Vereen's value had dropped that much. He's still the answer going forward IMO. I don't think a power back is going to be very effective against the Lions front. I can see your thoughts on Mason too though.
I'm 2nd, playing 1st, looks like Peterson is done. That leaves me with Gore, CJ Anderson, or Vereen for RB2. I'm thinking Gore is the most safe pick, while CJ is projected higher.Fan of:

Because Philly has been more of a scoring defense which is hard to predict... or count on.Comment

Re: 2014 OS "Who To Start" Thread
You're basing too much on one week. The Pats used the same gameplan to beat IND that they used in the playoffs last year... Gray was the best man to get that done. But Ridley's been out for a while and Gray was still on many FA lists so that tells you something. As said, Vereen should have more value against the Lions. I think he's a fine start. I do like Mason though. Who would you be dropping? Who's your other starting RB? Bell could be worth a look too but I like Vereen better this week for sure.
And I know with Vereen and Gray it depends more on the flow of the game and the specific game plan; if they're in a shootout and passing a lot, Vereen is gonna be the guy, if they're trying to pound the rock and milk the clock, it's Gray. I just don't like this unpredictable timeshare, especially with this not being a PPR league.
The question becomes now, who's the better play this week? Mason or Vereen?
I think the matchup against Detroit bodes well for Vereen being the more involved back for New England, but I also like that Mason is the guy in STL. I'm leaning towards Mason, but I feel like Vereen has the higher ceiling this week.Comment

I went ahead and dropped Rainey to grab Mason.

Mason got almost 30 carries last week though, and it helped them beat the Broncos so it'd make sense that they lean on him heavy again.Comment
