Martin's health is a concern but he did practice today. I think Hunter could go off against Dallas but he could be a boom or bust. I like West, but I don't think he saw any targets in the passing game last week. Thanks in advance.
West can catch. The bigger worry is losing out on goalline carries but I like him a lot this week. That Hunter match up is very interesting though. I'd say it's down to those 2 for sure. If you're fairly confident in the rest of your lineup I'd go with West... he'll get enough touches to give you SOMETHING but Hunter has a bigger upside imo. If you think it'll be a dog fight to win this week, I'd go with Hunter and hope he's more boom than bust.

Thanks for the reply. Hunter is getting talked up for sure but I think I'll roll with West (have him going in another league as well). But now that gives me another head scratcher with starting Hunter in place of Edelman. It's a PPR league and even though Edelman isn't a scoring threat, he makes up for that with all of his catches.

I like Hunter more for the season but I don't see him as being there yet. The good news is that he lead the Titans in targets last week. The bad news is he only had a few catches and (without watching much of the game) I think he's mostly targeted deep while Wright gets the gadget plays designed for him and the short routes. I think Edelman is the safer bet this week in a PPR.

          (Standard scoring, 10 team)

Pick Two: Pierre Garcon, Justin Hunter, Victor Cruz, Vincent Jackson, Keenan Allen

I'm leaning towards Garcon and Jackson right now...I'm down on Cruz after Week 1. I'm down on Allen against Seattle. Hunter against the Cowboys is very enticing.

Pick One: Terrance West, Andre Ellington, A 3rd WR from the list above

Not sure if West's performance was a fluke and how many carries Crowell will get but I like him over an less-than-100% Ellington at this point.

West from the list above...and Edelman in a PPR.

Any other running backs that are under the radar?

I have Peterson, Ivory, Stacy and Asiata.

Of course Peterson is out now so I picked up Asiata out of FA. Now between Stacy and Ivory. Also not against going to get someone from FA that might be a sleeper.

Trying to figure out my WR2 and my Flex guy:
                Alshon Jeffery
                Larry Fitzgerald
                Mark Ingram
                Frank Gore
That's not an insult, THAT is just a fact of life.

Re: 2014 OS "Who To Start" Thread

Jeffery is still questionable, I will sit him against the 9ers. Fitz should do a nice job against the Giants so you could take him for the WR spot.

Gore seems like he is really done, just like last year after the bye. The Saints used Ingram a lot last week so you should put him in FLEX, I guess he has a great chance to score again this week.

Quick question for my team: My matchup will be really close this week, so every decision matters.

                  Cardinals vs Giants
                  Texans vs Raiders

2 great defenses with 2 great matchups. Somehow I think Eli will bounce back from last week and the Texans scored huge last week. So should I go with the Texans?

Miami D/ST on the road against Buffalo? Reports are Bills are extremely fired up for their home opener "woodstock meets tailgating". Dolphins' D looked pretty solid against Pats.

                      or

Titans D/ST home opener against Dallas? Romo looked uncomfortable last week threw multiple picks. Titans forced 3 turnovers and only allowed 10 points to KC last week on the road.

Keenan Allen is facing SEA today (though is WR2 so won't see much Sherman), and I'm considering benching him for Justin Hunter against DAL.

Normally this would be an easy decision, but my other starting WR is teammate Kendall Wright. Conventional wisdom says to avoid having two players from the same position on the same team if you're trying to maximize opportunities, and this week I might need to maximize them.

                        So... Allen or Hunter?

Got another one for you guys:

I have Vernon Davis locked up at TE so no problem there, but I also have Zach Ertz and want to place him as my flex above Reggie Bush (more TE opportunities, for the most part). This would be fine, but my opponent has Nick Foles.

I'll get more points per hookup obviously (+0.6 pts per yd & +2.0 pts per TD), but it won't cover a major spread when that happens. Again, when it comes to maximizing opportunities, I'm not exactly lucking out here.

So I ask here... Ertz or Bush?

Gore is going to dominate against Chicago today. Only problem is you'll be sharing runs with Hyde and Kaepernick. I just don't know when he'll get his touches, but he'll definitely have some breakaway runs. Also, if the Niners runaway with this they'll be running a lot more in the 4th quarter. I'd expect no less than 8 pts from him today, and with a TD no less than the teens.

Jeffrey is questionable today. You don't want to risk starting somebody and getting zero points in return. Tough to guess whether he would too as they play tonight.

You're providing Eli with too much faith, he won't get it done and he'll throw a lot of picks. Go with the home team on this one.
