Freeman. More talented back playing in a better off. Will also see more touches. Taylor - Wilson is a wash although I would lean toward Taylor.

In a bad RB2 bind. Don't know who will get more opportunities tomorrow:

        Reggie Bush or Chris Ivory?

          Bush is back?

From what I've seen going around online, the Jets have concerns that Ivory isn't fully recovered from his quad issues and may not even be able to play the entire game. If Bush is back and healthy I'd think he'd be the better play since the 9ers will likely be playing from behind and passing more, thus needing him on the field getting more looks than hitting the ground with Carlos Hyde.

Drafted Arian Foster in the 6th round hoping he'd come back early and help me out, and now he's finally playing. Problem is, I have no idea where to put him . 12 team PPR...here's my options:

            RB: Gore, Hyde
            FLEX: John Brown

Do I replace any of those guys for him? Brown seems obvious, but I like having a receiver at FLEX in PPR leagues and I think he's due for a good game. Am I worrying too much about the possibility of Foster not having a big enough role in the offense today?

Forgot to answer this last night. Hope you went with Ivory as he is the bell cow in the Jets backfield. Hyde is the clear no. 1 in SF going forward

Last night I switched to Bush.

Then I woke up about a couple of hours ago and heard that Ivory would be the one playing today, so I switched back to him haha.

That said, I still have another one someone might be able to help me with.

I know people say "Go for most points," but I just can't agree with that thought if it also helps the other teams so much.

In both my leagues, I am playing against Carson Palmer. One of those leagues, the opponent also has Larry Fitzgerald. I too also have Larry Fitzgerald on one of my teams.

Jeremy Maclin is currently on the bench. Should I swap him in for Fitzgerald? If Fitzgerald scores 50 points, that also means Palmer kills me in both leagues and Fitzgerald also scores 50 for my opponent.

                  I'm leaning toward Maclin here.

Re: 2015 "Who Should I Start" Thread

Got a nice problem to have on my starting lineups for the coming week I suppose?

10 team, standard league. Two RBs, two WRs, TE and a Flex spot. Biggest question is what I should do at RB, though WR is an interesting situation as well.

I've got Jamal Charles, Justin Forsett, Karlos Williams, Arian Foster, Dion Lewis and Thomas Rawls.

Obviously I'm starting JC. I'm thinking going RB with my Flex so should I be looking Foster, Lewis at RB2 and Flex or can Forsett be trusted now and maybe work in Williams?

As for wideout, I've got Steve Smith, Amari Cooper, Martavis Bryant, Stevie Johnson and Marvin Jones.

With Smith out is Cooper, Bryant a no brainer? I kinda want to snatch up Hankerson and or Ted Ginn off waivers (provided they're still there Wednesday but I got a good feeling they'll be there again). Would it be a better play to snatch one or both of those guys up to plug in there?

You shouldn't make your lineup based on your opponents lineup. Always go for who you think gets most points. If fitz gets 50 points, he got 50 points. Why would you bench him if he's going to get 50 points. You'd rather have maclin get 20 and leave fitz on your bench with 50 just because your opponent has Palmer? It doesn't affect his team in any way whether you decide to bench fitz or not.

This is said all the time, but the bigger point in this case is I'm looking at two teams, not just one. If Fitz gets 50 points for me, he's also getting 50 points in my other league. I'm saying I can't root for that side of things. I'm trying to go 2-0 in one week, not 1-1. What I err to the side of is that I bench him and my guy scores more than Fitz does that week (which is always the case for anybody), but the reason for benching him goes beyond that.

Here's a stupid analogy to go alongside of it: if you're in two leagues, and going head-to-head against two opponents where in one league you have your set of players match exactly what your opponent has in the other league, and then your opponent in one league matches exactly what you have in the other league, do you settle for 1-1? Because that's exactly what you'll get unless you make bold changes.

I think I will debate my part in this endlessly, not for the sake of annoyance but because I think there's a reason we're allowed to see what players our opponents have. There is very much a reason to set your lineup based on what your opponents have or how everything would pan out if you're in multiple leagues.

At any rate, you're right for one thing: if I have a primarily-targeted receiver on my team and my opponent has the QB, I'm starting that receiver. My receiving points trump his passing points, and no matter what I am panning out one of two options, if not both. Either 1) my receiver will score more than either of his receivers, and/or 2) my QB will score more than his QB. The problem is that Palmer was on both teams in both leagues and one of my opponents also had Fitzgerald.

If you're okay with settling for 1-1, then hats off to you. But I'd rather go bold and risk going 0-2 just to possibly go 2-0. It turns out the decisions I made panned out, even starting Dalton over Newton. Once again, my decisions aren't about thinking who will score the most points, my decisions are about hoping who will score the most points. If I simulate what it means for me to start certain players and for them to do well, I want to know how that affects my opponent. It pays off more than it doesn't. So I started Maclin, and it definitely worked out.

Otherwise, what is this thread about? I think it was said in another thread, nobody knows how anyone will play in any given day. This thread is almost useless if it's not about strategizing more so than just asking: "Who do you think will score more?" The highlight of my post sticks mostly with the debate of "settling for 1-1."

It did end up working out for you as maclin had a great game, but I still wouldn't make a lineup decision in one league based on another league. I see where you're coming from though. I'd be kicking myself if maclin and fitz had their roles reversed and it was fitz who had a great game and I ended up losing because I benched him due to another leagues lineup. I don't play in multiple leagues though so I'm probably not one to tell you how to make decisions as I don't have first hand experience in that situation.

That last point about the purpose of this thread, I think it's usually used if you're on the fence between multiple players who think will be good and just want more opinions from an external source. Deciding who will score the most points isn't just that simple. Some may know more about match ups, advanced analysis, or know more about their home team than you might. Having that insight could push you over the edge of starting one over another when you are in a pickle.

Yep. I could have been in a situation last week where I would have had both of my QB's in great matchups. And I wanted to know which to start. I have Luck and Cam. They were playing Jacksonville and the Bucs respectively. So I figured both were going to put up good numbers but wanted and thought Luck would have done better against Jac. But I wanted someone else's opinion to help me make a decision. I do have insider so I use their recommend feature as well as my own logic. So another opinion could be the deciding factor in who to start.

I kinda want to snatch up Hankerson and or Ted Ginn off waivers (provided they're still there Wednesday but I got a good feeling they'll be there again). Would it be a better play to snatch one or both of those guys up to plug in there?
Don't sleep on Forsett. The Browns have been a good matchup for opposing RBs, and the Ravens running game has started to show signs of life, especially last week. Not only that, but all of the Ravens top receiving options are hurt, and they were already thin at the position, so I imagine they'll lean on the run game.

Charles and Cooper should be locks to start. Bryant, I'd be a little hesitant in his first start back, with Vick at QB, but I don't know who they're playing.

Foster is tough because we don't know how slowly they're working him back into the lineup, plus Houston is always playing from behind passing. I started him last week and got burned.
