I do like the Keith Brookings signing. Good for depth and a good veteran leader.
I havent't heard anything, though Dumervil was cleared in his case. So that's good news.

Yeah, Hillman is already hobbled, and it's a hamstring. The same exact junk Moreno dealt with his rookie season. I'm so tired of our running back corps being hampered by injuries all season.

Yea I saw that about Dumervil but really wasn't even concerned with that it seemed from the start he was in the clear.

And I agree I would love to see a solid running back that can stay healthy in Denver. Don't get me wrong I love McGehee but he is getting old. Maybe the Saints will part ways with one of their 5 running backs and the Broncos can pounce and FINALLY end the Moreno experiment.

Manning looked nice, though a bobbled pass by Stokely led to a INT.

Just as a follow up, the pass was tipped by the defense.

I think we looked good. Solid first game for the frat team offense and defense.

Wolfe with a nice sack. I want to see Brock in, rather than Hanie.

Overall, I was pretty happy. Of course, it's just the first preseason game, but that's a good way to get started. No serious injuries, the starters looked good, and the defense looked hungry. Good stuff to build upon.

My biggest observation was how well the offensive line protected Manning. That might be more of an indictment on the Bears defensive line, but I was happy to see Manning in the pocket with time. Even the second and third string O-lines performed well.

DWolfe looks like a solid player. 2 Sacks. I know it's preseason, but he looked really good.

                    Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

I had to watch the game on NFL Network last night at 10. I know it's only preseason, but I want to watch the game like it's live. I avoid the internet, ESPN, etc., and sit down to watch it.

First series....NFL Network runs the final score along the ticker at the bottom of the screen.

                    **sigh**

Overall I was happy with what I saw, especially from the defense. They will definitely be improved. Solid tackling, stuffing the run, pressure (even up the middle)....I liked it. Lots of positives for the first preseason game.

Way too much is being made of Manning's pick. Hilarious. He looked good. A little rusty, but good. The 3rd and 17 completion to Decker is indicative of what is to come. Very pretty.

It will be fun to watch Osweiler develop. Kid's got a big arm.

I kinda want to see Peyton take a hit, to see if he can stand it. I know it sounds odd, but I need to know he can take a hit or two.

Honestly, I wonder if he feels the same way. Get that hit out of the way so he can say "okay, yeah, I'll be alright." Then he can just settle in and do his thing.

Chris Kuper broke his arm today in practice. Out 4-6 weeks.

                          That sucks...

And what is the deal with Broncos rookie running backs? Torrain, Moreno, and now Hillman. Hillman came back to practice, only to tweak his hammy and sit out yet again.

I can only attribute it to rookie conditioning and not being ready for the rigors of the NFL. That's all I can think of. That being said, look out for this kid, Xavier Omon. He looks impressive. I want to be careful when I say this, but when I saw him against the Bears, my VERY first gut reaction was "he looks like Terrell Davis."

I like how Xavier Omon looked as well.

Now Jason Hunter is out. Time for Ayers to step it up. Hopefully Wolfe turns into a nice player. I'm not worried about the defensive line yet...

All they have to be is an average defense with Manning. I actually think they have a chance to push for a top ten finish.
