Hopefully he can do just enough to hold things together. Mays is a huge loss not because of what Mays brings to the table, but what scraps are going to be put out in his place.

Manning and Co. need to get up quick in this one and make the Raiders lean more on their passing game. If this turns into a close game where Oakland can run the ball and control the clock.... I don't like it.

I have yet to see the upside to the Keith Brooking signing. He's another old re-tread that can only provide a breather for the other guys. I think Oakland is going to utilize these match-ups and exploit it in both the passing and running game.

I never thouht DJ was worthy of all the praise he received, but I want him back now!

Noticed that Porter and McGahee completed a full practice in pads this morning. That is good news. And Kuper should return in 2 weeks, hopefully. Denver will be asking a lot of Brooking this week. Just hope that he and his walker are up to the task. It will be all about stopping the run this week.

We still have Woodyard. Most underrated player on the team, possible most underrated LB in the league.

I agree that Woodyard is a capable back-up. I have always liked him and appreciate his play. He will have to step up to the challenge this week as he gets his shot to start and get considerable playing time.

He has been starting and doing very well, actually. I wouldn't be surprised if DJ is not in Orange next year.

Duh, yes. I was thinking that he was only playing on certain downs.

Joe Mays appeal was denied today by the NFL for his one game suspension.

Now new reports are coming out that DJ may still be suspended for his impaired driving incindence. I thought this was done or would have been addressed by Goodell by now. That isn't the case, as DJ had a meeting with Goodell this week. I've heard he could get another 2 or 3 games.

I'm starting to worry about the Raider game...

I had a feeling that the DJ DUI issue was still lingering. Goodell will give him at least 1 more game suspension for that, unfortunately. I agree that Denver will jettison DJ next year. It always amazes me that these guys can't seem to keep their noses clean.

Pretty sad when you have to worry about the lowly Raiders at home. Denver needs to get the monkey off of its back this week. I totally understand your misgivings. But I can see Denver rolling the Raiders more than the other way around. But, I have said that before.

Maybe that's a good thing. It seems the last four years, I've gone into Denver's home game with the Raiders feeling pretty confident, only to watch them lay an egg. I'm not sure how lowly the Raiders are... I still think it's too early to really give any team an identity. Denver certainly doesn't have one.

Week 4...timing is right for Manning and Company to start putting it together. I'd like to see them open a game with a touchdown drive, or at least figure out that they can score in another quarter besides the 4th.

A loss today would hurt.

Everybody has to be pretty much all smiles after that one! That's the most complete 60 minutes of football that I've seen out of the Broncos in all three phases of the game in a long, long time.

I think this game will a long way in helping to form the team's identity. Today, their offense looked like a Manning led offense. The timing is starting to come together and Manning is getting more and more comfortable. The defense got to play with a lead and they were dominant. Prater was solid...just let him kick it instead of throw it.

I'd love to hear what Jason Whitlock has to say now.
