Didn't DVille get somewhere around 12 sacks this year? He also does a good job absorbing blocks. A pay cut would b enice (for Manning, too) but if not, I still think he's worth it. His salary drops (IIRC) to 6 million in a year or two, anyway.

Last season Doom had 11 sacks and 54 tackles which translates roughly into >$1M per sack with 3 tackles per game (2012- $14M). In 2011 he amassed 9 sacks with 31 tackles ($14M also). Who else in the league gets $14M for that kind of production?

      He is to make $12M in 2013, $10M in 2014, and $9M in 2015.

$6M is about where Elvis should be in his current contract. I am not sure he should be paid that same money in 2 years as his production may decline. Although, I like the idea of adding depth to his position (giving him competition) and including a $1M bonus for a 12+ sack season in a restructured contract.

However, I don't think Dumervil will take much less than what his base salary is now and Denver may decide to test the market for a trade.

He also missed all of 2010, immediately following the signing of his huge deal.

There is a rumor circulating that Denver is seeking Revis where Dumervil may be part of the trade.

I hope not. I don't think Denver's secondary is that big of a problem. There seems to be a huge overreaction to one game.

I'd take Revis. Bailey doesn't have much left. It get another CB like that would be nice.

I agree with Jonsco28. Our secondary has depth and is not a huge "need." Their young guys are developing and Quinton Carter will be back next year to challenge Mike Adams for the 2nd safety spot.

Revis will look for somewhere around $15M/year and Denver would do better to use the money on other areas of need. Revis is also coming off an ACL repair.

Rumors are just rumors, but I thought that I would put it out there. I have a good feeling that Denver will woo Stephen Jackson over Green Bay as well. Not sure about Atlanta, however.

Hey just gauging thoughts here... What would your fan base reaction if Russel's comeback was successful. Would you take Brock or Russel? Like I said just curious. With Peyton not getting younger you gotta think about that next QB to take over.

Brock over Russel. Younger, looks good so far, and the brass loves him.

yea I knew they did. He's learning from the best. I'm pretty sure thats the general opinion too.

If you are talking straight-up talent, I'd agree. Looking at the cost associated with signing him and how Revis only seems to care about being the highest paid cornerback, I'd rather Denver spend the money somewhere else.

I'm not saying Denver couldn't use another corner...that's just a really steep price.

Speaking of rumors...Rashard Mendenall? Hmm... I hope that doesn't happen either.

I haven't heard much in terms of Jackson (which I still like). I keep hearing how Denver wants to go younger. Understandable, but...

DJ has just been cut. No big surprise.

Hanie is out as well. Doom is probably next.

I am hoping the Mendenhall thing is just a smokescreen. I agree with you...no on a two year wonder that has become injury-prone. We already have 2 of those.
