I just hope Denver will not beat themselves with turnovers. Hillman, J Thomas, and Holliday will make me hold my breath every time they touch the ball. I am expecting the offense to carry the defense this game, but who knows. Mile High will be rocking and the emphasis is still winning at home. Let's just hope Denver can use the altitude and their fast-paced offense to wear down the Raven's D this go around.

I'm actually okay with that. I love Champ, but his best days are behind him and that's with him at 100%. I didn't want to see him out there at 80%. Torrey Smith would get behind him all night long. I'll take Tony Carter.

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Well, that will do.
The offense was solid, the defense was solid, and special teams did their job. Not much I can say. I'm glad Woodyard was okay, because when Paris Lenon came in, Flacco started picking on him a lot. Woodyard needs to stay healthy all year. Our linebacker depth is shaky.
Also, Dumervil ended the night with 2 tackles, 1 being for a sack. Gobbled up most of the night. Yup, he was sure worth some big contract. Robert Ayers outplayed Dumervil, and isn't a detriment to run-defense. I'm happy Dumervil moved on, our defense is actually better without him.
Also, how about DRC? Flacco tested him just once all night. No completions against him. I really hope this is DRC coming around into what he was turning into at Arizona.Last edited by Broncos86; 09-06-2013, 01:08 AM.Comment

PFM!!! Wow! Yeah... I would love to ask Dumervil if he thinks his Raven contract is worth it. What is a SuperBowl worth? Glad he is gone.
I was impressed with Denver's rushing D. Welker is a stud while our beloved Stokely looked old. Decker struggled as did the running game. Once Denver irons things out, they will be unstoppable. Hopefully, this romp will kickstart the season.
Home field advantage made it's return tonight. Nobody wants to come to Mile High and play this offense for 4 quarters. The Raven's D was totally gassed. This is going to be a fun season.

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
It's hard not to be excited over that win.Peyton wasn't even on his 'A'game, more like A-,B+.Julius Thomas is looking like a young Antonio Gates,D.T. was D.T.,and Welker's going to put up better numbers than he did with Brady.
The negatives would be the running game wasn't really there,Decker had a bad game and Welker's flubbed fair catch.
The defense was as good as you could expect.DRC,as I expected, was a better match for Smith.Phillips played like Von and the d-line was stout. The secondary is about as deep as you could want. The only aggravation other than a couple of drives that the D wasn't there was the Trevathan travesty.Last edited by gr18; 09-06-2013, 09:34 PM.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
One would have to believe that it was drilled into these guys by the coaches to carry the ball back to the sidelines and hand the ball to the coach after a Defensive or special teams score after the Holiday blunder in Carolina last year. At least it did't hurt Denver as they won anyway, but I want to see these guys play smart and focused this year. Other than his bonehead move, I thought Trevathan played very well.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I'm not sure how I feel about this game. I know Peyton will do everything earthly possible not lose to Eli, and that alone is almost enough to make me feel pretty good about going into NY. It's still a trip to the east coast, but it's also a late start....
This will be a really good test.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Denver will need to get pressure on Eli. The Giants have a good trio of receivers and they can't allow him time. This will be a good test.
That is funny about the Giants looking at McGahee due to their fumbling woes last game. I hear that they are bringing Jacobs and Turner in for a look-see as well.Comment

I certainly feel better going into this game than I did the Ravens game. But yeah, one game doesn't prove who you are. Beating the Giants will a long way towards a successful season.
I want to see less off-tackle zone running. It didn't work against the Ravens, and the Giants will disrupt it as well.Comment
