AV, dude, you have been so high on Torrian, I hope he lives up to your hype machine He will be fresh, but not in football shape. Can he even be counted on for this year? Just a thought, throwing it out there.

I dunno, I've been reserved about him with play time and impact. I'd be happy if he did real well but I'm not expecting any "wow" kinda things. Thats why I like Pittman, steady as a rock. Young gets his occasional gash but he's always slippin. Hall goes for 1-3yds and then gets a nice downhill run.

We shall see. Like you said, he's not in gametime type of shape. Its a good thing we have so many guys to choose from to run the ball

That's for sure. What a stable of backs!

I don't know if you remember Gerald Wilhite back in the day. We use to joke that he needed a cleat on his facemask because he spent more time falling that he needed an extra foot. Reminds me of Selvin Young.

I remember him from NFL Films, I was pretty much a baby when he played
          On a good note
Shanahan did say rookie WR Eddie Royal should be ready to play. Royal left last week with an ankle injury that Shanahan described Wednesday as a “bone bruise.” He said Royal will resume practicing tomorrow.
Scheffler and Selvin Young are out vs the Jaguars this weekend due to groin injuries.

            Suspect in D.Williams killing indicted
            http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=090...o&confirm=true
A 25-year-old man was indicted Wednesday on first-degree murder charges in the drive-by shooting death of Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams on New Year's Day 2007.

Willie D. Clark faces 39 counts including murder, attempted murder, assault, crimes of violence and a weapons violation, Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey said.

Clark is in federal custody in a separate case. He was long considered a "person of interest" in Williams' slaying, but is the first suspect to be indicted.

4-2 now with the Patriots next and then our bye. SNF, lets see the Chargers lose

Nothing really else to say besides I hate Slowik with a passion. I dont understand why the offense attempted to have the air show, go with a similar plan like last week.

edit- maybe we should spend this entire week on how to secure the ball?

During the offseason I'd like to see the Broncos get a real d-coordinator.

Injury edit- Stokely had a concussion from the game. The bye cant get here any faster.

I don't know what else to say.

Your 8-8 is looking prophetic. After the bye, there is Miami and Cleveland, home against the raiders and Chiefs that should be wins. The rest are big ifs...so 8-8 looks pretty realistic right now; however, that 6-10 is still out there, especially with that wussy ***** Defense.

Almost every team we play has a bruiser for a RB so I'm expecting a 100yd rusher every game for the entire season.

Going 3-4 when we all know the defense cant get pressure is still baffling to me, especially when we dont bring anyone in for help. Whatever. Jim Bates tackling scheme snuck back in vs the Jaguars- attempts of arm tackling like that gets the job done.

The one bright thing about this team, we're relatively young on the offense and we have our new anchor at LT.

What do you think about Shanahan possibly moving Jarvis Moss to LB? I'd be in favor of it since he's got the size and speed for it, he gets handled on the line for the most part.

Sticking him in the middle would be good, because the Broncos need a solid anchor in the middle. Be interesting to see how or if this transition happens.

                          Shanahan interview
On if Pittman may keep the starting role
"If you play like that, you get the opportunity to have more playing time. One of the reasons he got as much playing time as he did is because of the way he played last week. He sure didn't hurt himself in this game."

On if he planned to rotate Pittman and RB Andre Hall
"No. After he played how he did the week before, I thought he deserved the opportunity to play full time. If he got tired, he was going to take himself out and let Andre (Hall) go in there. He played well enough the week before to give himself the opportunity to keep the job."

                          On defensive blitzes
"When we did blitz, it was effective. We got a couple of turnovers, big turnovers at the time, and they kept us in the game."

looks like you guys nailed the Pittman call. Shanny's pretty good about playing who plays well at RB. For fantasy sake, I hope he sticks with him.

The Jaguars game sealed Young's fate imo. He gets the stat appraisal but he fails with stretching a play because he's on his *** all the time.

Pittman will get the bulk of the carries this season, he's hungry. With Torain after the bye, I think Hall will be seeing the majority of his playing time on ST returns- but that all depends on how well Torain comes out.

I have always thought that Selvin Young isn't designed to be a Terrell Davis type runner. I see him as more of a Glyn Wilburn type, or Steve Sewell with speed. His speed and elusiveness would be very effective on third downs and passing situations. Young catching swing passes or running rim routes vs a backer in man coverage could be deadly for a defense.

Av mentions Torrian again, I sure hope he is all that he is expected to be. Could you imagine the national media who knows nothing about him yet, and their reaction if he explodes onto the scene? More fodder for Shanahan-genius talk.

Talking about Pittman, he is running the ball like a man. Exactly what the Broncos need. I say feed it to him 30 times a game from here on out. Keep our defense off the field for jiminy sakes.
