Re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
Yea I’m happy with Barkley, I think it was going to be hard for them to take a QB with the whole outrage debacle of them sitting Eli last year, I think with Webb gone now that made it clear to everyone Eli was the guy this year, which I think now people are starting to wake up and see he’s not the answer anymore. Yea I know the offensive line is bad but he is just not effective back there, fumbles way too much.
Barkley was obviously a once in a generation talent at the position and now I think they can pick a solid heir apparent without much controversy at the QB position, not sure who that would be yet, or they can make some moves and collect up more picks and really try and solidify that o line

Re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
I mean, sure. But it's been pretty much proven a RB by itself has little effect on the teams success. So for the hope of getting an impact player next year, it better be worth it. I think it'll be fun and we'll be bad for a long time.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
I don’t think we’ll be bad for a long time, I think a piece or 2 on that O line sites it up, Gives Manning more time, draft a QB this time around and let him sit and learn. I think the coaching staff has a better plan/philosophy they just need the players to pick it up over time and eventually move on from Eli, but any of those rookie QB’s starting right now with this O line would be dead on arrival, in that regard I do think Barkley was the better option. Let’s skip to season after next, the philosophy is more fine tuned, they still have great young talent on both sides of the ball and Eli’s replacement will have been schooled up and ready to take the helm
This years draft so be simple, pick best QB available as we will have a top pick for sure, then lots of trading to collect more picks throughout the draft for depth and more chances of during up that O line, we don’t need and WR’s, RB’s TE’s and much of the D is solid too, especially if offense can stay on the damn field longer then 5 minutes

Y'all remember Dave Brown, Kent Graham and Danny Kanell? I think we're heading in that direction.Comment

Exactly....when you have a chance to grab a potential franchise QB, picking a RB makes no sense. We could have made a smooth transition from Eli to Sam Darnold. But I think Mara listened to the fans who were outraged about the benching instead of being cold-blooded and making the smart football move.

Re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
I just feel Darnold has a bigger upside than Sanchez. We'll find out who was right in @ 3 or 4 years.
Well, another disastrous season. I wasn't like other Giants fans who were saying "worst-to-first". I thought they'd go 7-9 or 8-8, but I didn't see this coming....damn. The win-now plan was a complete failure. And I just heard on WFAN that Eli Apple got traded to the Saints.....the rebuild is on.
A caller brought up a great point...the Giants have been a mess under three different regimes (Coughlin, McAdoo and now Shurmur). Ownership has to get it together.Comment

FIRE SALE is on. 1st Eli Apple and Snacks Harrison. I'd trade anyone with any type of value. Jenkins, Olgetree, Solder and Shepard. Only untouchables I think would be Saquon and OBJ.

I agree that Darnold will probably have a better career than Sanchez.

Yea I agree with OBJ and Saquon only untouchables. I think a complete rebuild now is best move though. You have to great talents at skill positions you can build around. A plug and play approach really doesn’t work to getting better when your this bad because then you get stuck in sports purgatory, not good enough for playoffs, not bad enough for a game changing draft selection. I think that’s why in all sports nowadays you see teams more inclined to sell off and/or tank to ultimately get better

Re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
I didn't think it was possible - Giants o-line is worse than last year's....Eli was sacked 7x and only 37 rushing yards?????? No wonder they can't get in the endzone.
Imagine what Saquon would do behind the Rams o-line....smhComment
