Best Saints Wide Receiver of All Time?

For me it's between Joe Horn and Colston.

Right now Joe Horn (Drafted 5th Rd KC) has amassed 8744 RY and 58 TD's in 12 seasons. Aquired via Free Agency.

Colston (Drafted 7th RD) has amassed 6240 RY and 48 TD's in 6 seasons.

I give it to Colston due to his value period. Horn I believe has 4 Probowls and still holds the Saints Record for most receiving yards in a season which is impressive considering the QB's he had throwing to him, but due to Colston sharing targets with so many other options I believe cancel that out.

Feel free to add to the greatest Saints position players of all time, this one seem's pretty cut and dry as a QB comparison would as well. I think Defensive players would be a more interesting debate.

Also, any thoughts on who doesn't make the cut as far as our WR corps goes, I have a feeling this is the year Arrington gets let go in order to fit Joe Morgan into the rotation who is supposed to be the favorite in taking over Meachem's roles as well as Sproles role on special teams.

It's hard to really establish the QB thing, Colston had Brees while Horn had mostly Aaron Brooks. I hated Brooks, but he put up decent stats in his time in NO.

I'd probably go with Colston, just because I love WRs that aren't afraid to make those tough catches over the middle constantly.

It comes down to the preseason, if Morgan has another good preseason he should make it over Arrington. Arrington has looked better as of late, but Morgan fills a bigger need with the age of Devery and loss of Meachem if he continues to show something

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I know some of you guys may still be a little bitter over how things have went so far but I figured I'd ask this question. If the Saints end up with the #1 pick next season do you draft Brees' successor or do you go after defensive players? I ask this question because it was posed by a Saints analyst on twitter and his take was you draft the best QB available which I disagree with but curious as to your thoughts on this.

Re: Official New Orleans Saints Thread

Just found this interesting article on Sean Payton's contract being potentially voided and him becoming a free agent next year? AFter re-reading the article I'm not sure how exactly the NFL can void a coaches contract?

Enduring the wrath of Hurricane Sandy at his Long Island home hasn't kept our pal Adam Schefter of ESPN from digging up some good stuff for Sunday morning.

I will be the first to say that I underestimated Payton's effect on this team but it's still hard to believe that our defense would have been that much better with him here. I do believe we left a lot of plays on the field especially 4th and short plays that Payton would have opted to go for. I'm not buying into the Cowboys hype but man what a blow that would be to lose Payton permanently...

The language of the contract made the league void it. Something about the Vitt suspension.

Speculation about Payton going to Dallas are completely absurd. But I enjoy the conversation and rhetoric.

Apparently the News broke prematurely as the NFL says theyve made no decision on it.

Yeah apparently it was never approved or just voided recently due to the clause if Mickey Loomis was suspended or left(they didn't want that precedent with contracts). So now the ? is does this year count on his contract or not, if it does he'll technically be a FA coach after the season ends.

So what record do you guys think can realistically aim for this season.

Looking at the schedule we have 5 more home games including 3 in a row starting this weekend. If we can continue our impressive home form and win those 3 that would put us on 7-4. From there I think 10-6 is realistic but it would be great if we could go 11-5 as we might be able to sneak into the 2nd or 3rd seed
