Damn...Davis is out, need him to get some experience. He has had way to many easy balls droped. Johnson did look good yesterday though.


I still say 3-3 at the bye is reasonable.

I haven't yet checked out my recording of the 9ers/Eagles game yet due to partying,work, school. Anyways, what I'm hearing on the radio and reading on the boards here is that Vernon Davis and Frank Gore will be out with injuries. Man, 4 important guys injured this early in the season. Luckily Maurice Hicks isn't that bad of a back and Michael Robinson is decent. And I hope Eric Johnson can return to his 04' form. He had a breakout year then and I really hope Alex Smith will be able to connect with him more often.

On the way home from school today the guys on KNBR were saying that the 9ers desperately need a playmaker on defense like Brian Dawkins is for the Eagles. I couldn't agree more. The 9ers defense has improved but if the offense struggles early it means that the defense will be on the field longer making them more tired (what we mainly have been seeing the past few seasons). I hope they do something or work on stopping teams more on 3rd downs.

Preview for this Sunday's game: Since 02', the year the Raiders made the Superbowl and the 9ers made the playoffs their records are 13-38 and 14-38. :y4: Should be a battle! And man I still have a bitter taste in my mouth when Jose Cortez missed crucial field goals that season, especially against the Raiders!

Anyways a match between one of the league's worst offenses vs. the league's worst defense will be held this Sunday. And it looks like Larry Allen is doubtful again this week with his knee injury. Man the 9ers o-line needs to regroup badly.

With the Chargers coming to town this Sunday, I have a feeling that Alex Smith will be on his back ALOT! The Chargers have a very good pass rush. And with Justin Fargas looking decent last Sunday, imagine how much LT will tear up the 9ers defense this week . Anyways, go 9ers!!

I know i'm dragging up a thread that hasn't been replied to in 2 months BUT I heard (well more like told about) a rumour that Mike Nolan is trying to get the Niners to go back to the Joe Montana Era uniforms.

How true is this? If this happens i'd be all in favour of it. The Niners should've never changed IMO.

How true is this? If this happens i'd be all in favour of it. The Niners should've never changed IMO.

Yup them uni's are damn sweet. We all know teams are trying to update uniforms, but some teams just look better with the old ones.

I hear about this on the Mike Nolan show on KNBR after they wore them earlier this year. Mike said that he had requested the change and that it took a year for the league to approve it. He said hopefully next year that they could wear similar uni's to the Montana Era. He also talked about how proud the team was to play in the uni's and thought that it helped their play. I can't wait to see this team (play and unis) and Nolan (suit and tie) next year!!

I think their current uniforms look pretty awesome. I personally wouldn't like the change.

So who do you guys think will replace Billy Davis as the 49ers Defensive Coordinator? The 9ers also let go of defensive line coach Gary Emanuel. Do you think Mike Singletary will take over defensive play calling?

Yea I do, on KNBR this afternoon, they were saying that if Nolan made this decision this quickly, he probably had a replacement in mind and its probably Singletary. I hope it is because, from what i've heard, the players really respect him.


And yea, I wanna see some major attention thrown at some FA's. I hope that the progress we showed this year will add incentive beyond money, for some FA's to come and help out.

Hey guys, i'm new to the forum, but I'm a HUGE 49ers fan. I'm glad we have enough fans on here to have a long thread like this.
I probably wont be sifting through the entire thread, but I will engage in convo from here on out!!
